2004 race, Algore, the General, and Hillary.

The Democratic contest is going to get interesting soon. I truly believe these three will pop up soon, because I and a lot of people believe that George Bush is going down with the ship, with the tanked economy and the war in Iraq.

Al Gore- Al Gore got hosed in 2000. As a matter of fact, I read that he won more votes for a Democratic candidate, more than FDR in 32’, 36’, more than LBJ in 64’, more than Clinton either race. I cannot believe he is not running now. He could run on a “I told you so” ticket. If a Dem. wins, he is pretty much through, because the Dem might become popular like Clinton, and when his two terms are up, that President’s VP is going to get the nomination in 2012. By 2012, Gore will be an old man, probably forgotten. Plus, he still has the women vote because, to be honest, he is a good looking man, which takes us to the…

General Wesley Clark- I can’t believe that any senior military or ex-military people are Democrats, because of the fight over gays in the military and military cuts by Clinton. But, General Clark is one, so let’s see. He graduated first from West Point, went to Oxford, fought in a couple of wars, from Arkansas and yes, he is a handsome man. The guy looks like a President. He might lose some of the trekkie vote because of the name “Wesley” which takes us to…

Hillary Clinton-She would run for President because her name is “Clinton” and when her philandering husband was President, times were pretty good, better than they are under Bush II and company.

Al Gore and Clark can win this, if they do not run against each other. Both can win. Clark can win the south, California, and some industrial states. Gore can win what he did in 2000, blitz Florida, and spend more time in the south (he lost Tennessee his home state) Hillary would lose, because she is too liberal, a woman, and I do not feel that men like her as a whole. She would only win maybe 10 states.

I REALLY don’t want the choice in 2004 to be Howard Dean and George W Bush. They suck (IMPO).

I agree on the Hillary thing… she certainly wouldnt be most men’s choice…

Gore seems boring… and people are in a “war” mode.

I think that’s giving her a little too much credit.

My perception from people (like me) who disliked the clinton administration had a much stronger dislike for Hil than for her husband (though he received a lot of the ‘blame’). Personally for me, I would have voted for a clinton sans hilary.

I definately think should could take california, and maybe a couple of the more liberal new england states, but that would be about as far as it would go. My impression from even my most liberal friends in New York is that she isn’t really liked even there, and is in danger of getting ousted next term, that is, if republicans actually put up a legitimate candidate this time.

(FINE PRINT: THIS STATEMENT HAS BEEN BASED WHOLLY ON ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE AND IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT ITS AUTHOR EXTREMELY DISLIKES HILARY CLINTON TO BEGIN WITH AND WOULD HAPPILY REGISTER AS A DEMOCRAT IN ANY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION SHE WERE INVOLVED IN, JUST SO HE COULD VOTE AGAINST HER TWICE)
