Oh yeah, 6’6", 313 lbs, 30.9% body fat, or whatever it is called when they use the calipers.
Initial Weight: 360 lbs
Current Weight: 197 lbs
Goal Weight: 150 lbs
163 lost; 47 to lose.
I finally broke 200 after seventeen months. Yay.
Wow! That’s fantastic results man!
Yes Aesiron what he said. That’s awesome. You’ve lost a whole person.
I’ve been better this week. We booked a flight to NY to see my in-laws and I’d dearly love to be a little smaller by the time we go. We leave July 27 which gives me two months and a week or so to get my act together.
185.5/177/140
Though I don’t imagine I’ll hit 140 by July 26 Maybe I could be in the low 160s.
This week I’ve managed to walk every single day, not drink more than 1 glass of wine a night (I know no wine would be better but progress not prohibition) and I’ve been really, really careful about eating right and especially about not overeating. Stopping when I’m full even when they’re still food on my plate is difficult for me but I’ve been doing it.
Life is good.
I had a bad week last week. I started the week with new-found will power and was quite good during the days.
However I had a business dinner 4 of the 5 nights and was not good at all during those times.
Back to it again tomorrow!
Lately I haven’t been feeling like myself on this diet. It’s basically HMR shakes, limited prefab entrees, and oat bran. I’ve fought switching to the modified HMR plan, which adds another couple prefab entrees, reduces the required number of shakes and adds 5 fresh fruits and veggies. I know it will translate to an even slower loss (I’ve been going in up/down circles for 2 months now, with very little loss), but I’m beginning to think my body has adapted to the low calorie plan, and the extra food would probably help my energy level, which has been declining after 4 months on this plan. It will cost a lot less, since I won’t need the biweekly labs, but I won’t be allowed to return to the fasting plan for another 6 months if it doesn’t work for me. I’ve been motivated by the overall good loss, but I’m so afraid that less loss = less motivation, because that will mean me regaining all this hard-fought loss.
Congrats to everyone who’s losing.
But right now, I’m narked. Turns out the scales I’m using were borked. I’ve gotten a new set of scales, which have me “magically” losing more than 5kgs this week… And it’s very hard to get an accurate weight out of my old scales, so I can’t even use them to tell just how much I’ve actually lost.
I’m going to have to just start weighing myself permanently on my new scales from now on, and take my measurements from there.
Grr.
Big congrats to all. I’m at 45 pounds down so far, and going strong. I have started feeling much healthier and more energetic, even though it’s a fraction of what I really need to lose overall, random people are starting to comment, and damned if I don’t feel sexy
This week: -1. YTD: -14. Overall: -35.
Had breakfast with a friend of mine yesterday who is perhaps the most self-absorbed person I’ve ever met – and he finally noticed that I’d lost some weight. Didn’t know whether to or
Still holding steady.
I had a pretty good week. Had some great work outs and did well with my eating. This weekend should also be good, despite the holiday, as I have no picnics scheduled. One of the guys who used to work for me suggested we get a case of beer and sit on my deck all afternoon Monday. If we do that I’ll be hosed, but I’m not expecting him to follow up…
Have a good holiday all!
This week: +2. Dunno why – ate out a couple of times, but not ridiculous amounts on either occasion; might be water weight, my cycle is so screwy anymore I could be premenstrual and not have a clue; might be because I only got two walks in this week; might have misread the scale last week.
Oh well, back to it – I’ve got summer clothes I’d like to wear…
I’m holding steady at 313, hopefully I’ll begin dropping this week. I’m going to switch cardio from treadmill to bike I think. While the treadmill is better, my knee begins to bother me at the mile mark or so and I usually end up stopping at 20 minutes. So I’m planning to begin to bike which will let my knee not be an issue.
I’m also beginning a month long fast from french fries. They are one of my favorite guilty pleasures and I figure if I can go a month without them, I’ll be doing good.
Initial Weight: 360 lbs
Current Weight: 208 lbs
Goal Weight: 150 lbs
152 lost; 58 to lose.
Up 11(!) from 197 last week. I don’t even know how that’s possible even with all the stress eating I’ve been doing. I’ve cut back on the binging and might have a (very physical) job offer on Tuesday so I hope I can get back on the wagon soon.
I’m down four pounds, and have been walking and riding my exercise bike like a crazy woman. I’ve been trying to eat mainly veggies and lean protein, plus lots and lots of water.
I have my agility test next week, and went for a practice session yesterday.
I was able to do everything fairly easily, except the dummy drag. It’s a 175-pound mannequin, dressed in full turnout gear (that adds about 25-30 pounds) with shoulder straps. You have to grab the straps and drag it 40 feet. The really hard part was that you have to make two turns around concrete poles - that’s what really tripped me up. If it was a straight drag, I might have done better. I need to practice more - obviously I have no upper body strength.
Today is my first day. Myscale is saying 260 but I am going this mornign to get a new scale because I dont’ think it is accurate. I am doing the Diet to your Door thing, which is where they send you all of your food for the week. I tried ths in January and lost pretty good but lost my credit card and by the time I ogt a new one I was laid off. So back having been employed for 2 months I am trying this again. It is similar to Nutri-Systems only the food is way better (and more expensive). The diet was designed by a bord certified bariatric specialist and cooked by a French chef. It is shipped frozen and packed with dry ice. I looked at a booklet of the choices that Nutrisystems had as well as what was written on line about it. I am willing to pay the extra money ot to have to eat pasta with marinara sauce all of the time. I am sure Nutrisytems has more than that but that was sure my impression. diet to your Door is 1100 to 1400 calories a day, it varies according to the doctor to keep yoru systme from adjusting to a set amount of calories and stalling the losing process as much. I am hoping it will help me adjust teh portion size of what I am eating in other words I will become adjusted to what a reasonable meal looks like. It will put me in the habit of eating meals at home or brought from home instead of eating out every meal. Wish me luck.
oh I forgot to say that it is a right protein right carb diet sort of like the South beach diet. Lots of lean meat and other protein with lots of vegetables. The few bread type stuff tends to be low carb, high fiber. And you have access to a dietician if you have any questions. For instance, I was concerned about being hungary only eating around 1200 calories a day, they told me most people weren’t hungary but if I was to add a piece of fruit at lunch or a salad at dinner etc.
This morning I worked out and hit the scale to find that I’m down 2 lbs. From 313 to 311. Hopefully it wasn’t just water weight, we’ll see how it reads next week!
Dave packed my scale for the upcoming move. I have no idea when I’ll weigh myself again.
Well I got through the weekend without too much damage. No picnics to tempt me. Mom thought I looked thinner. Since I have never mentioned that I am dieting, that is a good sign.
