2008 Masters: Discussion thread

Tiger’s never come from behind to win a Major on sunday. If the lead backs up to 3 or less, I think he has a chance to kill that monkey tomorrow…and Schnedeker just bogied 11. I think some guys might start peeing down their legs tomorrow if Tiger’s right on their heels.

Poulter was wearing pink pants and a pink visor during round 2. I’m sorry, but men shouldn’t wear pastel pink. It’s just…icky.

Now, Ivylad has a pink dress shirt that he sometimes wears with a grey suit, and that, I can get behind (or underneath, as the case may be ) but pastel pink? Ewww.

In any event, Poulter got a hole-in-one during round one, and I suppose I must forgive him his choice in clothing. I mean, getting a hole in one during the Masters? Dude can get free drinks for the rest of his life on that one.

Hay, I didn’t know until just now there was a “game room.”

How many people who are not big golf fans actually realise that his name is Eldrick?
[/QUOTE]

Actually, Mr. Woods has legally changed his name to Tiger. He is Eldrick no longer.

And, while I am a huge Tiger fan (and will be rooting for him today), I think 6 back on Sunday is too great a deficit for him to make up. I’d love to be proven wrong, though.

Man, lefty sucks.
Looked like he gave up in the last 5-6 holes on Sat - something you NEVER see Tiger do.
Gotta hope between Immelman, Snedeker, and Casey, at least 1 of them isn’t gonna crumble.

Thats cheating. How many poor black kids were saddled with Eldrick in honor.

Easily the worst Masters I’ve ever seen. Nobody doing anything and Immelman hanging on taking a double bogey at 16 and still being too far ahead…

It wasn’t one for the ages, that’s for sure. Was I the only one hoping he’d five-putt on the 18th and force a playoff?

I love seeing first time major wins at Augusta. Congratulations to Trevor!

I’d rather not see some ham and egger just get lucky for a weekend. What a dud of a Masters.

Considering he’s only 28 and was rookie of the year in 2006, maybe he’s actually, you know, good. Give the guy a little credit.

I predict he’ll never win another tournament. He played over his head, had a fluke weekend, and Tiger didn’t have his putter going. Immelman will not disappear back into obscurity. What a waste of a green jacket.

If there’s one thing which can derail the Tiger express to 19 (21) majors, it’s that mysterious and arcane art called putting. I was amazed that he missed those two short putts on 13 & 14.

I got a cold feeling when Immelman doubled 16. If he blew up Tiger could have won it sitting in the clubhouse. That would have been weird.

Only your third sentence is correct (except he wasn’t really that obscure).

I predict Immelman will win the PGA in August.

Actually, that sentence contained a typo. I meant to say that Immelman will now return to obscurity. I bet he doesn’t make the cut at any more Majors this year.

What opinion have you on Charles Coody? Tommy Aaron? Herman Keiser?

He was 5th at the 2006 Masters and is still recovering from both a parasite that caused him to lose twenty pounds and cancer. Some people seem to have the need to dismiss anyone that isn’t Tiger.

You obviously don’t know very much about professional golf. Sorry, but it’s obvious.

He is considered one of, if not the best putter on tour. Maybe one of the best putters ever.
