2008 Presidential Election Results Thread. See it here as they come in.

There aren’t a lot of Dems who are crying over losing Mahoney. Is it some kind of curse involving that seat? First Foley, then Mahoney? Keep an eye on Rooney…I think it’s contagious or something.

They’re about 4,000 votes apart, but there’s a strong independent candidate in the race, who appears to be siphoning votes from both of them.

I guess he must have rehearsed it at least once, but like Enfant Terrible and others I instantly think a whole lot more of McCain than I did anytime in the past 3 months.

It’s been a long time that the U.S. president was respected not for his post but for who he is. I have to say that last time you were voting, I wanted Bush to lose. This time, I really really wanted Obama to win.

And now I get to listen to him!

Please let him say something like, “Its cool, America. I got this shit.”

And it looks like Lampson is going to lose DeLay’s old seat, not by all that much though.

That was the first thing I thought, even before “oh hey, there’s Barack.”

Squee.

Or at least “Let me just whip this out” when going for his speech.

He allegedly paid her $120,000 to keep quiet about their illicit bonking.

It wouldn’t be that big a deal - his district is Palm Beach County, basically - but the previous officeholder was Mark Foley, so the constituency is a bit sensitive about sex scandals ATM.

Fuck you, Cali, by the way. How on earth could you fall for that shit about teaching teh gay [marriage] in schools?

No booing of McCain at the Obama speech.

I smell Presidential Medal of Freedom for McCain!

The semi-official results have only 15% reporting in Montana, but with Obama holding over 50%, and ten points ahead of McCain. I also note that Gallitin County is not yet contributing any numbers, and we’re going to break heavily for Obama (Missoula, the other college town, is nearly 2-1 for him).

I was expecting Montana to go blue, but that was mostly because of Barr and Paul peeling away McCain votes. I didn’t actually expect to see Obama over 50%.

Hush you, it’s not over yet. I could still be able to legally marry.

A new puppy for the white house! :D:D

Is Jesse Jackson crying?

On MO: It looks (google) like the major urban centers (Springfield, St. Louis, KC) are still not reporting.

On Al Frankin: Is MN a runoff state? Looks like the 3rd party candidate will force the winner below 50%.

He was crying earlier, hardcore.

Keep hope alive. But right now it’s showing 52%, with 93% reporting.

It’s pretty rare for an incumbent to lose in Georgia, anyway.

I just want to still be married in the morning :(.

I’m so thrilled about Obama, though…

Yeah… That’s interesting, but his speech isn’t very inspiring, it seems to me…yawn…

I’m quite speechless…

…And no sooner do I post that, then Yellowstone County delivers 73,019 votes for Ron Paul. Take any Montana numbers with a grain of salt for the next few minutes.
