Wouldn’t it be fun to get postcards from around the country/world? And think how easy it would be to do!
I propose a postcard exchange!
Here’s the basic idea:
- You sign up here and PM/email me your info.
- I will send you 3 addresses of Dopers.
- You send each one a postcard from your part of the world.
- You receive 3 postcards in the mail instead of just bills and flyers!
- 3 Dopers will think you’re awesome and you’ll make their day!

C. Whether or not you’ll send internationally
I’m going to make the initial deadline 11:59 AM 1/31/2010 (EST)
Here’s my only requests:
i. Please keep the postcards SFW, since some mailboxes may be opened by small children.
ii. please make sure at least your Doper name is legible so the recipient will know who it’s from!
iii. please post here when you receive a postcard and who from so i can keep track of active participants.
If the response is good, I will consider keeping this as a rolling project for those who want to try to receive postcards from all over. (i.e., you can request 3 additional names once the first 3 have confirmed receipt - and your address will be given to 3 more people.)
I figure it’s a low-cost and fun way to brighten each other’s days
