2012 NFL Playoffs Discussion Thread

I’m amazed that, with a 3 point lead, 60 yards to go, and 40 seconds left (+ only one timeout by the opponent) that NO was playing a one-deep zone. Don’t you have at least 2 safeties deep there, ensuring that you get nothing worse than overtime? Then again this is the same defense that blew another late lead earlier this season by continual blitzing-when the other team had 95 yards to go and about 90 seconds left. :smack: <—Capt. Well, shit. Awfully quick start for NE.

Oh man. What a game. What an emotional roller coaster.

Damn.

Hats off to the 49ers. They won a game that’s going to be remembered for a long time.

WTF were the Saints trying on that last play? God I hate gadgets. That was the time to just fling it in a “Big Ben Left” cluster of receivers. Not whatever the hell that was supposed to be.

As a Packers fan id much rather face sf than NO.

What is that motion with their hands that almost all qbs make? Its putting your fingertips together sorta making a tent shape with both hands?

I have to root for the Broncos, because if they win then the Ravens can secure home field with a victory tomorrow.

By the look of that first drive, though, things might not go so well for Denver this week.

If God is taking time out from rescuing starving children in Botswana to watch Bronco football, he must really enjoy drama. I mean, if I were God and a Broncos fan, and I was as omnipotent as some people claim I am, I would have the Broncos up 236-0 already, not down 0-7.

Ummmm. Giants still have to get past the 15-1 team with the league mvp and the best receiving Corp in the nfl.

Hey, we know what we’re up against. But right now things look good. Remember we’re reliving 2007 as **Giants **fans.

Here we go, turnovers.

Not gonna happen. So many years of poor performance isn’t going to be erased in a single year. Still, he has been terminally underrated this year. He doesn’t have a lot of TDs, but that makes his TD:int ratio even more impressive. He’s well above the Trent Dilfer line, the lowest quality a quarterback can be and still be carried by his defense to a Super Bowl. (I’m only 31. There are probably worse, but they’re probably before my time.) He’s not Montana or Young, but I’m quite happy with his performance this year. And I went to Nevada, so I have a particular interest in him losing his starting job.

A lot of is that he’s no longer playing like he has to win the game. He’s not forcing passes into bad situations. With his defense, he can miss opportunities if it means not turning it over. He’ll get the ball back, with better field position. This game, he needed to make those huge plays with nothing left to lose at the end, and he did. I don’t want that to be the situation every game, but he did it this time. I’d rather rely on him not throwing an interception than having to have a 300 yard game (okay 299 yard game).

Should be a great game.

It seems god did go to Botswana while that last play took place.

Well, He can’t be everywhere.

Oh, wait . . .

Huddle, as opposed to running the no huddle offense

And Timmy sets the stage early for a comeback scenario.

Thanks.

0-1 and a fumble. This is the first-quarter Timmy we’ve come to know and love here in Denver.

Well, that was moderately amazing.

Well this is starting the way I thought this game would go. The Pats don’t plan to let Tebow and his co-pilot be in striking range. After all, everyone knows Belichick has that deal with the other guy right?

Touchdown stands. I thought it would, but there’s always hope they’ll get it wrong.
