Last I looked we were at 17; the league settings allow 20. I’m pretty sure all the returnees are in, but I haven’t had a chance to make sure yet.
By this weekend I should get to it, then I’ll send out additional invites. The draft isn’t till late March (I don’t have the info in front of me), so there’s time yet.
OK, we’re at 18 now. I’m sending out the league info to Happy Lendervedder and Enlightening Meditation, which will bring us to the full 20, which would be cool.
We did reach 20 once before, in 2007. That was my worst finish, so maybe I shouldn’t be so happy.

I have not managed in any leagues deeper than 14 teams, so this should be fun.
Was wondering if there might be any interest in randomly generating our draft order now, so that folks can be a little more ready for the draft. It’s always fun to sign in to find out that once again I’ll be drafting in the last couple slots, but I’d like to get my cursing in a little early this time.
Or if there’s opposition to this, I’ll see y’all Sunday!

I’ll be willing to handle randomly generating the draft order and inputting beforehand, if a majority of people want to do it. I’m indifferent.

I’m all for knowing the draft order ahead of time. I’d like to know whether or not I have a chance at a decent 1B this year.
I just completed a IRL draft with coworkers that only had 8 players, team pitching staffs and only 1 utility player and I found myself completely stumped near the end of it. This league is going to be BRUTAL this year.

I’m OK with pre-generated draft order – means that I’d have even more reason to finish doing my draft prep ahead of time. Though there is a certain delicious suspense in not knowing ahead of time whether you’ll be making your picks in pairs clumped close together and then separated by up to 38 other picks, or having a more consistent pace of around 20 picks between each of yours. That is, assuming you plan to keep the serpentine flow of picks. I vote for keeping it, if only to enjoy the freaking out of those who haven’t played in a league this deep when they realize that they have to make those two picks in quick succession and then watch helpless as nearly 40 more players come off the board.
Here we go! Prepare to be underwhelmed.
I may be forced to go the auto-pick route tonight. My daughter has a soccer game at home tonight, and I never miss them. Maybe it’ll be a blowout early and I’ll skip the second half. I am fiddling with the rankins right now.
I have fifteen minutes from the time my daughter’s dance class ends to the time the draft begins. Fortunately, the dance studio is right around the corner, so I can get myself set up and ready before going to pick her up. I’m preranking the first round, at least, just in case.
You know what I wish you could do with the pre-ranking? Say you know you want a 1B in the first round. I’d like to be able to tell Yahoo, “Okay - I like these 1Bs in this order. Once you get one of them, ignore these others, and move on to my next rankings.” I can just see myself picking 20th, and Yahoo looking at my player rankings and picking two of the same position with back-to-back picks.
At 1:30 per pick, each round can last a maximum of 30 minutes - making for a theoretic 12 hour draft. I highly encourage everyone to keep an active queue going and to not delay too much. Everyone gets their queue eaten up in this draft at some point, so don’t feel pressured to pick immediately. But the more you’re on top of it, the less likely you’ll be caught with your pants down. I’d like to be able to get to work tomorrow morning on time! 
Actually, I changed the league settings - only the commissioner gets 1:30 per pick. Everyone else gets 3 seconds. We should be done in half an hour!

Hell, by the end of it, I won’t know who any of the players are anyway. Three seconds will be plenty!
