Yeah, I really liked what the Browns did in the 1st. Fun to watch them move around so much and I liked who they picked. The extra 1st Rounder on top? Nice.
From Bradley Roby’s NFL.com prospect analysis:
Thin ankles?! Why is that so desirable?
As an Eagles fan, I’m not. He’s not an ideal fit for Kelly, there will be good WRs available in round 2. I wanted BPA on defense.
Whether the guy they got is in fact that, I’m not as sure …
Nobody likes cankles.
In reality other then Wr what other position would have a chance at seeing significant playing time but a DB? I’m fine at the back end of a round with a playoff team reaching to grab a position of need. Now a top half team like the Dolphins taking a OT (which they needed but quite a reach) is different.
The 49ers trade a conditional 2015 4th Round pick to the Bills for WR Stevie Johnson. Could become a 3rd Rounder.
I wonder if anyone wants Derrick Carr. If so, the Browns would be the spot to go right before the Raiders. For a first next year. ALL THE FIRST ROUND PICKS
Fucking greedy bastard. You take the drunken owner of the Colts behind the shed for a little ugh ugh for Trent Richardson and then give the Bills the ol’ in/out to let them move up a few spots and you’re not satisfied?
He is drunk on power.
Give me Aaron Rodgers for Johnny Manziel’s girlfriend and a keg.
I wonder if Manziel is the most polarizing prospect in recent history. Tebow got as much or more media attention, but I don’t think there were nearly as many people who actually thought Tebow would be good. It was a shock he went in the first round, whereas the media story is that it was unexpected that Manziel “fell” to around the same area.
He certainly has a lot of very strong proponents and detractors. I don’t know what to make of him. What do you guys think?
Actually, I made a separate thread to discuss Manziel. Please come if you have an opinion.
Coming in late to say how much I love the Steelers’ pick. Lots of speed, lots of burst, and great character. He’s a lighter, more athletic(!) version of Lawrence Timmons. They still need some big uglies up front to keep him clean. I’m hoping for an end or Nose Tackle in the next few rounds to do just that. Of course the Steeler message boards are filled with whinging over not drafting a corner. Obviously none of them have paid more than passing attention to how the Super Bowl teams were built.
Well, I was wrong. Apparently Gordon may have failed a test for pot and may get suspended for a year. For fucks sake, just when things are starting to look up. FML.
If true, Browns pretty much have to grab Lee or their favorite receiver here.
ESPN is saying the Browns are just learning about it now. What weird timing. That can’t be a coincidence, can it?
Dumb, but not as dumb as the policy that makes pot a banned substance.
Something really fishy is going on. The test was apparently failed months ago, but ESPN is reporting that the Browns didn’t know, and they were learning it from the ESPN report. But it came out an hour before day 2 of the draft? NFL.com has no news about it. Gordon has been out in public talking about how he’s excited about the upcoming season, etc.
Very weird story.
Edit: If this were true, and the Browns knew, they would’ve given a 4th rounder next year for Stevie Johnson easily, which would likely be higher than SF’s pick. So either the Browns didn’t know, or this is bullshit, or… what the hell.
Seriously. An entire year for weed? That’s a bang-up job by the players’ union.
Ugh. He’s still young enough that it won’t ruin his career. And at least he’s cutting my heart out months before the season starts.
God @TheTweetOfGod 12m
I just don’t like Cleveland sports.
Well, Lee’s knee injury must be a big thing, because the Brown passed on all those WRs for a guard. I guess they’re hoping to land Lattimore or someone in the third, or maybe trade back up into the 2nd.
The way Bill Polian talked about Bitonio, I hate that the Panthers passed on him even more. I’m amazed at the Browns’ draft so far. Meaning it’s been good.
