Got it working again. The 49ers took a long look at Latimer, interesting that they trade out and let somebody else pick him. No idea what to expect here.
The Niners are talking about trading LaMichael James and have Lattimer coming in. Seems like a weird choice, but might be a steal.
Many of our CBs have been 3rd and 4th rounders as well so it’s not unlikely to see that happen. Next Steeler pick is the compensation pick since they traded the third for Shamarko last year.
As far as Nix goes, he was popular on many pundits’ mocks but guys like Lance Zierlien didn’t have him pegged that high. I was hoping they’d take Ego Ferguson myself.
I think Tuitt was a very good pick. The tape on him isn’t flawless (whose is?) but he was much more consistent than Hageman. Shazier and Tuitt will start sooner than previous year’s picks by virtue of not having so many veterans on front of them and will make the 4th round corners look like second-rounders if all goes well. The drop-off from top CB to late-round CB isn’t as great as at other positions so it may work out well to wait a bit there.
I certainly didn’t expect a running back. The hell? He seems like a big fella, which is the type they were looking at. So weird.

Trying to size up guys for the Bears with this coming 3rd round pick and I’m not liking the way this draft broke. Really we should be targeting the best available DB here but just about everyone left is a reach. Desir is the best of the group and probably the guy I want, but I think he’s a slight reach here, I’d like him better at the top of the 4th but he’ll very likely be gone before it comes back around. There’s a couple DTs left that are interesting, Caraun Reid, DaQuan Jones, and a couple DEs I like, but no one I’m salivating over.
Though if Nix falls to us…it’s probably worth the gamble depending on what the red flag is.

I am not sold on Tomlin/Colbert draft philosophy, and i guess until they have a draft to being the Steelers back to where they belong, I won’t be. We are wasting what is left of a franchise QB’s career. We waited 2 decades after Bradshaw to get Big Ben, and every year that goes by without a solid draft, the team just gets weaker.

How did each 1st round pick have a jersey ready with his name on it from the team that drafted him?
Do they whip those shirts up on the spot, or do teams bring jerseys with the names of all the players they are targeting, and give out the jersey that matches the kid’s name? I can’t believe the Vikings had. Bridgewater shirt in their bag, but maybe they did.
And the Browns had Manziel’s jersey?
Anyone know how this works? Because it is pretty cool that each of the first round kids gets their jersey with a number 1 on it with their name for the photo sessions.
