When he gets around to “prostitute” it will cement his alliance with Vitter.
Bumper sticker from that year: “Vote for the Crook. It’s Important.”
So why is Jindal so unpopular? Is he constitutionally prohibited from a third term, or is her popularity-limited?
LA governor is term limited to two consecutive terms.
Did you watch the ad Vitter released? What you say may be true but the ad explicitly states otherwise and most of the public is pretty seriously paranoid about refugees at the moment. Linking Edwards to the idea of refugee settlement may prove to be an effective tactic, regardless of whether it is true.
That’s a funny one. I have few illusions about the average voter in Illinois but at least once Blago was caught the general consensus was to toss the bum out of office and send him to prison. If after he is released in 2025 he is elected again to a statewide office then the comparison would be more appropriate. As bad as our politicians may be I’m not aware of any being reelected to a major office after being caught up in a scandal involving prostitutes and wearing diapers.
As for Kirk and Rauner, it is reasonable to believe they will both be denied reelection.
Well, for one thing, he appears to have spent his second term as governor (if not both terms) focused on positioning himself for a presidential run instead of actually governing his state. (In fact, he has a long history of half-ignoring his present job while building his resume for the next one.)
If this does work, I expect 2016 will bring forth a barrage of GOP ads that will make the Willie Horton spots look low-key and tasteful.
The post you accompanied pretty much summarized the ad (which I’ve seen now) and its just another political ad, not anymore devestating and probably less so then the Edwards ads I posted. Until I see polls and/or election results to the contrary, I see no reason why this ad should doom Edwards considering he has done a good job of differentiating himself from Obama and a better representative of certain conservative values then Vitter.
My broader point is that calling voters stupid isn’t particularly helpful. As I like saying, most people know their interests most of the time and vote accordingly.
From your lips to God’s ears.
The ad Vitter is running is total BS yet his campaign clearly thinks this is a tactic that will help them make it an actual contest. If it works it would hardly be the first time a politician got away with such a brazen lie.
The problem with this is that at the moment it appears a lot of people in this country think keeping Syrian refugees out of the country is in their best interest. Hopefully the voters of Louisiana know better.
Okay, so now two Democratic governors oppose letting in Syrian refugees. It’s officially bipartisan now.
Always the comedian aren’t ya?
Problem is, Edwards isn’t a governor. Yet.
Looks like a win for Edwards. Good job to my home state of Louisiana!
Glory, glory, hallelujah! I was cautiously hopeful this would happen but more than a bit worried slimeball Vitter would manage to pull out a win at the last minute.
And this bit of news is just icing on the cake:
Democrat Defeats David Vitter
Hopefully this is the last we hear of this hypocritical slime bag.
to the liberals who doubt the importance of being seen as tough on security, take not of Edwards being against more Syrian refugees, against the national Dem party and Obama.
Think Jindal will run for the Senate seat?
I hope so.
Oh please please please

Okay, so now two Democratic governors oppose letting in Syrian refugees. It’s officially bipartisan now.
Yeah, ~27 GOP governors, and 2 Dem governors.
I think the word you’re looking for is ‘technically’ bipartisan.

to the liberals who doubt the importance of being seen as tough on security, take not of Edwards being against more Syrian refugees, against the national Dem party and Obama.
In a state as Republican as Louisiana, I take it for granted that a Dem can’t win by being a Liz Warren clone. Small price to pay for getting 225,000 more people covered by Medicaid.
ETA: But in places more favorable to Dems, I expect them to follow Obama’s example and explain the difference to people between actually being tough on national security, and posturing on it.
Jindal’s going to be continuing his career in unelected office I’d expect. He’ll be angling for VP(not totally out of the realm of possibility) or a Cabinet post.
