He’ll get my vote over Hillary, that’s for sure. I’m not going to vote for her until she’s the last Democrat left in the race.
Probably. But you might be surprised on that point.
Looks like he’s already having a big impact on the race: Hillary Expected to Adopt All of Sanders’s Positions by Noon | The New Yorker
And overnight, her donations dried up and her donors switched en masse to Jeb Bush.
Don’t hold back - tell us how you really feel!

New Republic has a good article on him and his “socialist” shtick:
That word may have lost some its sting. If the last six years have taught us anything, it’s that anyone who wants to let tax cuts on the wealthy expire is a “socialist”.
At least FoxNews will actually have come close to using the word correctly for once.
Sanders is a bumbling but well-meaning fool who genuinely hates business and supports the drug war. He clearly does not understand how the banking system works with his claims that banks were “given” $17 trillion in 2008 and he wants to “audit” the Fed like the zany Paul combo does (a misnomer since the Fed is audited by Deloitte & Touche). He is anti-trade to top it off.
Thankfully without the support of the large liberal business community (like myself) he won’t pull 10% of the delegates.
I want the impossible - a third Obama term.
The New Republic still exists?!
Bernie’s fundraising is off to a good start, I must say; not sure he can sustain it: http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/01/politics/bernie-sanders-fundraising/index.html
His chances likely fall somewhere between the odds of the Detroit Lions winning next years Super Bowl and them winning next year’s World Series. I’d guess closer to the World Series win in that range.
I’d guess the odds of him making the ticket as VP are about the same. He’s from a tiny state that is likely to deliver it’s electoral votes to the Democratic nominee regardless of who it is. Moving further towards the base and away from the center at the convention without some other upside sounds like McCain picking Palin.
If he can sustain at least that rate every single day he hits the 2.5 Billion mark that’s being talked about as the Clinton campaign goal… in late 2019. Sanders 2020!
Yes, and no. I grew up in VT and Sanders is basically the de facto Democratic candidate whenever he runs, with his Democratic challenger more or less regarded as a third party candidate. The VT Democratic Party does run its own candidate, but it’s really just a dog and pony show in order for the party to remain relevant. What happens is that a prominent Democrat, such as Chuck Schumer or Harry Reid, endorses Sanders whenever he is up for election and the national DNC, as well as the various Dem PACs will stay out of the race.
This. With Sanders seeking the nomination the primaries will essentially boil down to Bernie accusing Hillary of being to closely tied to big business and being too hawkish on foreign policy which will not be nearly enough to cost her the nomination but could gain her some support among moderate Republicans due to the vacuum that will by be created by the freak show simultaneously being put on by the GOP.
Another way of looking at it is, he raised more in his first day than Serious Candidates Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio did in theirs.
But they’re to be taken seriously, and Bernie’s not. Whatever.
Of course, Cruz, Paul, and Rubio may successfully woo billionaire sugar daddies to bankroll their campaigns, while Sanders probably isn’t interested in pursuing such support.
So yeah, serious v. not.
Bernie Sanders=Ron Paul. He’ll raise money and have a dedicated fan base, but he’s not winning the nomination. He’s old and an ideological kook.
His ideas aren’t nearly as “kooky” as Paul, but I agree he’s not going to win. He’ll raise a lot of issues liberals care about and push Hillary to talk about them.
