2016 Bernie Sanders (D-VT) campaign for POTUS thread

General strike. Very rare in the U.S.

Now, I don’t think you should be constantly quoting Zizek and I’m not even upset that you support Hillary Clinton but if you what you say is true it’s even more of a shame you say classist bullshit like:

Link?

Until secession, anyway.

well there’s Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts , New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Delaware, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island.

Politico has already published the first post-mortem of the Sander’s campaign, before California is even called.

“Top Sanders aides admit that it’s been weeks, if not months, since they themselves realized he wasn’t going to be win, and they’ve been operating with a Trump’s-got-no-real-shot safety net. They debate whether Sanders’ role in the fall should be a full vote-for-Clinton campaign, or whether he should just campaign hard against Trump without signing up to do much for her directly.”

Was about to post this in another thread when I saw JohnT’s post.

Those of us who thought it stopped being about a movement and started being about Bernie himself? We were right:

I was trying to stay awake for his speech, but they’re saying he is running late because of him hastily rewriting his speech, I mean, because of traffic.

Well, just got on stage.

Sounds like a concession speech…

He hasn’t said anything concrete, but I’m hearing a bunch of wrapping-up and not a lot of fighting on.

“…we will not allow Donald Trump to become President.”

I think that pretty much puts any thoughts of an independent run to bed.

Started sounding like a concession speech, but now…“We will do” everything on his particular agenda.
“Real change never occurs from the top on down…” - well, Mr. Sanders, start building that movement at the bottom, not the top.

“Next Tuesday we continue the fight…”

Oh well.

Now he tells us!

“Next Tuesday, we continue the fight in the last primary in Washington DC.”

Yawn.

Another week to swat at this mosquito. Well, Clinton didn’t concede at this point in 2008 either.

sigh Will you stop once you lose in Philadelphia?

Wow. That was a surprise. At least we know he can do the arithmetic…
