Isn’t he already on his third stall? And where else would he be but on the left?
June 16th Sanders stated: "The major political task that we face in the next five months is to make certain that Donald Trump is defeated and defeated badly, I personally intend to begin my role in that process in a very short period of time.”
He actually had a chance to parlay a certain strength in certain demographics into actual impact. Now? Not so much so.
Sanders cut his political teeth in the 60s, the era of SDS and the Port Huron Statement and Prairie Fire and a bunch of other all-but-forgotten lefty manifestos. Shaping the Democratic Party platform has probably always been a big deal to him, regardless of who reads it. And I will add this: I don’t think you can dismiss his monumental stubbornness as mere egotism. If that were all there was, he’d have thrown in the towel now that he’s not getting any substantial attention, and more importantly, he’s spent decades toiling alone in the wilderness. Being ignored and disapproved of probably just confirms to him that he was right all along.
Looks like Bernie isn’t making friends among Democrats in congress. I wonder if he’ll start to get public criticism from Democrats? Most of all his supporters have come over to Clinton and the die hards that are left might be Instatweeting their thumbs off any time there is criticism of Bernie, but only the Bernie echo chamber is still paying attention.
Bernie apparently didn’t see the news about Lynch saying she was accepting the FBI recommendations no matter what. I guessed he missed it hidden, as it was, in all those articles about how Bernie blew it by not endorsing Clinton in the middle of June
He’s been stating all along that defeating Trump is critically important, but for the first time he’s also saying that electing Clinton is important. Not, perhaps, an official endorsement, but they’re making a joint appearance together next Tuesday and it looks like he’ll make a formal commitment then. (Possibly also suspending his campaign? That isn’t clear.) Maybe he wants to get a good speaking slot at the convention.
So, Bernie Sanders was able to get through the entire primary processes without filing his financial disclosure. I wonder what he’s hiding, I’ll assume it’s probably related to the golden parachute or other payments Jane Sanders received from Burlington College.
Why would you assume that? She hasn’t been at the college for five years so why would something pop up now? Also, as a Senator doesn’t he have to make a financial disclosure regardless of him not being a Presidential candidate? http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/candlook.php?txtName=sanders
On that page it gives me this:
Is that not his Presidential filing? What am I missing?
