She’s an arrogant violent alcoholic that stole and destroyed US soccer property, beat up her minor nephew, insulted dual citizens that play for the men’s team.
Her current payment squabble is being argued very disingenuously, but I don’t really hold that shady tactic against her too much.
If it’s all the same, I’d rather hear it from @Snarky_Kong. I find that people dislike Hope Solo for many different reasons, and I’m curious as to which reasons @Snarky_Kong has.

Thank you for your answer. And see, the reason why I asked is because I personally only find (2) and (3) to be objectionable behaviors, and if you had stated that disliked her for reasons which excluded those two, then I was prepared to filibuster.

Not really? I mean, the “drunkenly” part is, sure. I suppose I equate the other part to joyriding in the company car.
Women’s soccer is one of the sports where it’s hard to root for the USA. The USWNT is arrogant and boorish when they win, and unsportsmanlike sore losers when they don’t.
The Brazilians play 240 minutes in the knockout stages and can’t manage a single goal. I realize that Sweden just parked the bus today, but they needed to find a way to generate something.
I think you have to give Hope Solo a lot of credit for showing that women, just like men, can be both elite athletes and detestable, scum-sucking asshats. Dammit, you CAN have it all!

The call was 100% correct, totally inarguable. Buchanan’s tackle didn’t even pretend to be for the ball.
Canada concedes an utterly senseless penalty. 1-0 Germany.

End of the first half and I am struggling to recall anything Canada has actually done right. They’re very lucky it’s only 1-0.
I think that’s a little harsh. They got into a muddle into the middle of the half. But they also had two wonderful chances (and would have had a third if not for some tunnel vision by Sinclair) and they didn’t concede all that much to Germany outside of that utterly awful foul for the PK.
Canada turns the ball over on a goal kick and almost immediately concede a second. That’s pretty much that.
I seriously am hoping Germany punish Sweden for their deplorable anti-football.
Too bad for Canada. At least they had a few decent chances. Their attacking sure seemed to pick up once Matheson came on, though that was probably at least partly because of the score at that point.

How do you figure? I know Hope Solo is a whiner, but I think the US is generally pretty classy. If nothing else, they seem to very rarely dive, or stall for time late in games when they’re up, or any of that crap. I guess I don’t pay too much attention to post-game interviews one way or the other, but I don’t remember them bitching and moaning when they lost the WC finals to Japan 5 years ago.
