On my 2017 Toyota 4Runner, when I’m on a Bluetooth phone call, after about 5 minutes the call cuts out and goes to my handset. Been round and round at dealership, also at car audio store. Replaced the USB port per dealership. Did computer update. Still does it. Yesterday at dealership the guy tested it with his Iphone. Didn’t cut out. So apparently its related to the fact that the Bluetooth doesn’t like my Android Pixel 6 phone. Anyone experience anything like this and/or have a suggestion?
My Wife’s 2020 Subaru Accent has a weird problem that they can’t seem to fix. The radio would just stop working after a half hour or so. The only way to get it going again is to shut off the car for 5 minutes.
Subaru replaced the entire radio. Still does it but I think not as bad (would have to ask my Wife)
From what I’ve read, it’s probably the Subaru’s amplifier, located under the drivers seat. Maybe it’s over heating or something. I told the dealership that, but TPTB said to just replace the entire radio. That includes the GPS screen, the whole shebang. Many many $$$ for them to do. They didn’t touch the amp.
Intermittent problems like this are the worst.
mglambo. Do you use the radio? Does it cut out?
Radio and everything work fine just the phone cuts out after 5 minutes. I will probably just live with it if I don’t find a cure.
Have you tried pairing a different device to see if the same thing happens? It could be the phone not the car.
I have a similar problem with an early Google Home speaker, it disconnects at inconvenient times. (My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S10e.)
This Reddit thread suggests changing a Bluetooth setting known as AVRCP (audio/video remote control profile) to a different version. I’ve just done so, let’s see.
Well, that tweak seems to have resolved the issue I was having with my smart speaker.
