The thread is wandering a bit off track regarding Trump’s assets and taxes and what banks are willing to lend to him… I’d like to gently nudge this back to the debate itself.
I learned something new about the debate tonight. While I was wading through a sea of Trump supporters analyzing the debate frame by frame to show that Biden was wearing an earpiece and a wire so that the answers could be fed to him, I came across someone commenting that Biden was also wearing contact lenses with the answers printed on them. I swear, I never knew that you could do that. Think of all the kids in school who cheat by writing the answers on their contacts. Although if Biden is able to read answers off contacts he is wearing and apply them correctly to questions then I am even more convinced I have to vote for him.
Well, now I want to go back and analyze the debate frame by frame to see if Trump was spewing close enough that he could’ve given Biden Covid.
No, no, the contact lenses are really computer screens so the answers can be scrolled across in real time. Or, if Biden gets bored during the debates, he can tune into reruns of Starsky & Hutch.
Exactly. I don’t REALLY think this, but a part of he wonders if Trump knew he had it, and his constant shouting was a deliberate attempt to infect Biden. I’d love to see him thrown jail for (attempted? One would hope so) murder.

It surely couldn’t be that you just googled the words, and considered any hit (no matter how obscure or irrelevant) to be a vindication for trump?
Perhaps a blessing with the covid news of the day is that the remaining debates might be scrapped. Clearly, being a bombastic blowhard doesn’t play well with a lot of the country. Trouble is, when you’re immune to criticism you can’t change your ways. I hope that in future elections, we either don’t have debates at all or put the candidates in soundproof booths where only one mic is live at any one time.
I hope we have debates without any extra requirements, because both participants are adults who can be respectful and behave themselves.
Or more succinctly, let’s hope we never have another debate including a participant the likes of Trump.
I dunno. I seem to remember the Democratic debates having a lot of cross-talk and frequent interruptions. Nobody’s as bad as Trump, but political civil discourse in general seems to have taken a nosedive. Candidates are increasingly ignoring the rules.

Interesting to look back on this thread. Despite some Dopers thinking Biden was terrible, the overwhelming consensus by polling now is that Biden was fine, Trump was historically awful, and Biden was the very clear winner of the debate.
