Yeh, this, that’s all he needs to do to answer anything Trump says. “This is the guy that said you should inject yourself with bleach.” But Dems are above that sort of thing.
Trump pulls out the tired line “ I’ve done more in 47 months than you in 47 years” Biden: silence. He should have said something there, like yeah you’ve done a lot- most of it bad.
I don’t think Biden is doing anything well here. He could take the “rise above” tactic by ignoring Trump’s bullying and talking directly to American people, which I think is what he intended to do, but he’s not being inspirational enough to pull that off. He could be trying the “get under Trump’s skin” approach, which I think the quicker-minded democratic candidates could’ve done very effectively and made Trump absolutely lose his shit, but he’s not able to get anything in. Or he could just point out how many fucking utter bullshit and stupid things Trump is saying but he’s just not trying. Trump has given him so many easy ways to attack - over Republican hypocrisy in the supreme court, over Trump’s disastrous covid handling, over Trump’s taxes, and he’s just not landing any blows.
Waiting patiently for Biden to go full-on beast mode. Disappointment seems inevitable.

The idea that there’s some great way to handle a bloviating clown on stage is false. There isn’t. Trump brings everything down around him and there’s almost nothing anyone can do except ignore it. I think Biden is doing okay at a very tough task.
