Between Biden and the healthcare workers, my logic is this:
I can’t imagine Biden supporters being upset at those fighting COVID winning. But I imagine people thinking that Biden hasn’t yet really done anything and COVID-19 was the biggest thing.
I don’t see Trump winning again, and the Radical Justice Movement, while it would have won in a non-COVID non election year, has been a mixed bag with results so far.
I imagine not, given that the logical two finalists in 2001 would have been Rudy Guliani vs. Osama bin Laden.

I agree. Trump’s was intentionally dark back when he won, but this one is just not great.
Healthcare workers: hands down.
The logical and obvious choice was healthcare workers/Fauci. I think going with Biden/Harris was a purposeful troll of Trump. He’d be pissed if Fauci was on the cover, but he must be enraged with Biden and a woman.
As far as I can tell, Harris is the first sitting Vice-President or VP-Elect to be POTY at all. (GHW Bush didn’t win when he was elected President in 1988 while VP; “The Endangered Earth” did.)
I have not yet read the article, but with her being female, Black, and Asian, I think she has special impact for many. I’m presuming that is why she is included.
It will be prescient if she becomes president in the next decade.
