This idiotic AG from Arizona just told how his father came from the Philippines with nothing and lived his American dream. Is he even aware that Trump would not have let his father in? He is talking about how the desperate and downtrodden want to come to America because Trump has made it so great. Cognitive dissonance much?

Of all the false things Ivanka claimed, the most risible had to be the story about her father supposedly getting quietly emotional about Alice Johnson and musing about how many others like her there must be out there. I would bet everything I own that never, ever happened.
But it does make transparent that her job was to go out there and try her best to fill in the deep, deep holes (chasms, really) in her father’s image. Foremost among them: a stunning lack of empathy. So she tells a story about Donald Trump expressing empathy in a way we have never seen, that he mostly doesn’t even try to fake. Do they really think anyone’s going to buy that rather than the evidence of their own “lying eyes”? 
Well, some might… but they were going to vote for Trump anyway.
Right, I meant anyone in the presumed target audience: wavering suburban white women in the Rust Belt who reluctantly voted for him in 2016.
Eh, who knows. It’s kind of hard to gauge. The Trump administration has probably been the most nakedly partisan one in at least 100 years (if not ever).

I kept wondering about the very few masked people seen in the crowd. That is kind of brave to stick out that way. I wonder if they will all quietly be fired next Friday night.
MSNBC noted the thousands of maskless people, jammed together for hours, and called it a death cult, since they’re apparently willing to die for Trump. I thought that might have been a tad over the top.
I’ve been calling it a cult for four years, and ever since not wearing masks became a tribal symbol, I’ve been calling it a death cult. I think the term’s pretty on point.
It’s not only that they’re willing to die for Trump. It’s more that their cult leader demands that they sacrifice the old and infirm for his glory, and they acquiesce.
I can’t remember; was it Joy Reid or Nicolle Wallace that quoted, “The difference between a religion and a cult is that, in a religion, your Savior will sacrifice his life for his followers, but in a cult, the followers are expected to sacrifice their lives for their Savior.”
