Glynn Lunney, pioneering NASA flight director whose role in Apollo 13 the movie was far diminished from his actual role in real life in bringing the astronauts back alive, dead at 84.

Katherine Diaz, Salvadoran surfer and shoe-in for the Olympics, died at 22 from a lightning strike during training.

I haven’t found any corroboration of this anywhere. You really need to start linking to sources.

Okay, now the articles are starting to appear. Nevertheless, @Stephe86 never cites sources, so I respectfully ask that he starts.

I have never scored a single point in all the years of ‘playing’ this debacle.

Here’s a simple approach for scoring at least some points each year:

  1. See which of this year’s high-scoring players have been consistently near the top over the past few years.
  2. In mid-December, look at the current year’s lists of two or three of the best of those players.
  3. Put the people from their lists that are still alive on your list for the next year.

For instance, if you had put all the survivors from perennial contender and not-infrequent champ CAMJAY77’s 2020 list on your 2021 list, you’d already have points for Leon Spinks.

Since CAMJAY’s not playing this year, I figured that was a better example than a currently active player. But that’s the idea.
