Famed WWF referee Dave Hebner has died at 73.
Political columnist and commentator Mark Shields is gone at 85.
Famed? Those refs are all legally blind, easily distracted by shiny things, deaf, and powerless in the ring. RIP, still a strange career choice.
Joel Whitburn has passed away at 82.
Not a good week for ex-WWF referees:
Dave Wickersham, a journeyman big-league pitcher who had a career record of 68-57, died over the weekend at age 86. Wickersham began his career in 1960 with the Kansas City A’s, then spent time with Detroit and Pittsburgh before finishing his career in Kansas City…but this time with the Royals in their inaugural season in 1969.
He was one of just four players who played for both Kansas City franchises. The others were Aurelio Monteagudo, Moe Drabowsky and Ken Sanders.
Tony Siragusa, former defensive stalwart for the Baltimore Ravens, and later a popular sideline reporter, is dead at age 55.
