@phungi, can we get a ruling on Mumia Abu-Jamal? True, he’s a political activist, but he’s currently on Death Row. There’s no execution date set, but I wasn’t sure if Death Row inmates were eligible for this. It seems akin to the “being famous for being sick” rule to me.
Prisoners held on death row will be valid for scoring points only if they die by means other than official execution. I call this the “Whitey Bulger“.rule.
I would interpret this as if the person dies of natural causes or gets shanked, they count. If they are officially executed (even if the date isn’t currently known), the points won’t count (I’m not sure they would count towards the total of successful picks either). That would definitely be worth a clarification.
