It’s been awhile since I’ve posted but I am always lurking.
Long time, no see. Glad to know you are still here.
I’ve posted here under a variety of usernames over the years (beginning with the old, old SD board [AOL-based if I remember right] over 25 years ago), but haven’t posted for several years now. Instead, I lurk and keep up with the topics (and who’s gone, like OpalCat and many others).
I may post again if I feel I have something worthwhile to say. Or I may not. That’s the way things go.
Is there an award for the ‘best’ ratio of lurking time to post count? I’m in.

Mostly lurking (lately on the Botticelli threads) with the occasional post… But I love SDMB and am so grateful to the smart, thoughtful, and funny members who do take the time to share their expertise, opinions, and humor. What a great community!

I’m not really a lurker, but im not sure what I would be considered. I haven’t looked at the SDMB more than once or twice a year since around 2006. Before that I was a prety regular poster here in MPSIMS. I’m not sure if anyone remembers me from back in the day. I’m not sure if I’ll be doing more lurking or more posting. We’ll just have to see how things go.
I’ve checked nearly every day since March 1999, and on the old AOL message boards for years before that.
I don’t think I’ve hit 900 posts yet in 24 years.

Although I’ve been around since 2000/2001, I’ve never been a particularly active poster (with the exception of one long stretch/ongoing post), and I end up not checking the boards for long stretches, but then I’ll get back into it, checking every day or two and occasionally replying. Because I don’t check all the time, by the time I get to a post that I want to comment on, similar comments have already been made and there’s no real point of repeating. It’s amazing how many changes I’ve seen and experienced in the time I’ve been a participant on these boards.
Yeah, about the same for me. I just looked at my stats, and it’s 855 posts (856 now!) since sometime before the paid memberships started. Not sure when I joined, but I got the Charter Member designation so I could keep paying half-price. Cheap bastard, I am.
Pretty sure less than 1 post/week counts as lurking.
Ive posted a couple of times and reset my password tonight to complain about my week in mini rants.
I’m shy and less educated than many members which is why I like to lurk.
I think I’ll frequently rant for a while, anonymously screaming into the void is what I need for the time being.
Joined in October '03, and had been lurking for a couple of years before that. I’ve notched 86 posts in almost 20 years, which is pretty lurky!
