Detroit leading New Orleans 63-32 at the half. Yikes.
Bronny James now has 6 career three-pointers, surpassing Ben Simmons’ career total by one.
LeBron James returned to the Lakers lineup but the Lakers were blown out by the Bulls, behind 36 points from Coby White and a stellar performance by Josh Giddey, who was two steals shy of a quadruple-double.
Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard was diagnosed with vein thrombosis in his right calf which will sideline him indefinitely, a blow to the Bucks as they struggle to maintain the #5 seed.
Ugh, that might just be career ending at his age.
I’ve always felt badly for Damian. We watched him from his first season onward with the Blazers, who were always a bridesmaid in the finals. Despite that, he hung on, hoping that the team would eventually get there, and instead was treated to the stupidity of Olshey and his rapid-fire trading of players who weren’t given the chance to become a part of the team. When he finally threw up his hands in frustration and went to Milwaukee, it was likely too late, as the Bucks’ star seemed to be waning. Now he’ll likely never see a ring unless it’s as a coach.
I agree. One of my favorite players for a long time. Loyal to the Blazers even when every move they made was completely inept and backward looking, professional, exciting to watch, and, oh yeah, really really freaking good.
Yup. All of that, and a really giving person to the community. I’ll always remember him waving bye-bye to Hardin and the Thunder bench when the Blazers knocked them out of the playoffs.
one of my favorite non-Cavs NBA memories as well, especially in light of how much I despise Harden, who is exactly the opposite of Lillard in terms of loyalty, effort, watchability, etc.
lol, you and I are completely confused I think! He waved goodbye to the Thunder, who had Westbrook, NOT Harden! But my thoughts on Harden still stand.
No matter: I hate them both equally. Probably Westbrook more because of his stupidly childish “rocking the baby” bullshit.
My Pacers were on national TV on ESPN last night, and our hearts were broken by a game-winning tip-in by LeBron with no time left.
Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins was fired despite the Grizzlies being #5 in the West.
Something has to have happened. Right before the playoffs when there is seemingly nothing wrong with the team? yeah, something else is going to come out.
The Pistons are the first team in history to triple their wins in on season span. They went from worst in the league to likely playoff bound.
I think a lot of players needed a year of real NBA-practice and they improved a lot. Even Cade Cunningham has grown a lot in just one year. He’s a real star.
The Pistons have officially clinched a playoff berth.
With 4-ish games to go, the entire Eastern Conference picture is locked in, except for seeding.
Meanwhile in the West, the Lakers are third but could still fall into the play-in tournament.
Just read that Lillard is out for the season. He should look at retiring and becoming a coach. I think he’d be really good at it.
With three games left in the regular season and the Nuggets sitting in fourth place, they fired coach Michael Malone, the winningest coach in team history who led them to the 2023 NBA championship.
