2024/2025 NBA Regular Season Thread

Uh, more controversy then? They have to have a reason from behind the scenes actions.

I HATE the fact that every time I read about an out of the blue firing these days , I have to hold my breath and hope it’s not gambling related.

is that all? i worry it’s sexual assault or domestic abuse.

Insane self alley oop by Ja Morant.

And another forgettable Bulls season comes to an embarrassing end.

Spoke too soon I guess. Damian Lillard has been cleared from deep vein thrombosis and no longer on blood thinners, won’t play game 1 on Saturday but has resumed training to return to play.

Milwaukee’s Kyle Kuzma started Game 1 and played 22 minutes without recording a point, rebound, assist, steal, or block. It’s the most minutes a starter has ever scored in an NBA playoff game while “accomplishing” that feat.

I’m proud of my Pacers for winning Game 1. But why the hell do they have to have Games 2 and 3 on NBATV? I don’t have NBATV!

The Thunder beat the Grizzlies 131-80 in Game 1; the 51-point margin of victory was the largest in playoff Game 1 history.

Now that we’re in playoffs, would folks prefer that I edit the title, or start a new thread?

New one!

Pistons won their first playoff game since 2008.

Pistons, Rockets and to some extent, the Pacers have been a revelation this year. Good coaching, 48 minutes of effort and not relying on aging injured superstars made the season more interesting with these teams. The pesky Heat keep hanging around too.

Cade Cunningham used last year especially to rise to star status. He’s a great example of a great player who has improved by being in the NBA and getting to play top level players all the time.

The Pistons are actually pretty good. If they win this opening series vs. the Knicks, they will be a team to watch. I know they feel they have a TON to prove after being terrible last year.

Good chance against the Knicks. Probably the weakest of the top teams in either conference. They (Knicks) took care off business against the weak teams but had an abysmal record against the top contenders.

Pistons were winning game 1 as well, but blew it. I think Pistons are at least 50-50, maybe better to be able to win.

I think that’s Milwaukee.

I was thinking ‘top four’ in each. I agree Milwaukee is more of a pretender than a threat to advance. Pacers seem to own them.

Yeah I forgot how bad they stunk this year. Hard not to see them as at least a borderline contender with Giannis, but this year they are not even close to that.

Watching Knicks/Pistons and noticing that, 35 years after the Bad Boys, I no longer have a visceral hatred for the Pistons franchise.
