I thought Lieberman was somewhere in the picks but I’m not seeing him there.
Confirmed by CNN and others.

Doubles as a coffin.
Serra’s “Twain” sculpture in St. Louis has been a continuing “discussion” for more than 40 years now. One time I stood inside the triangle, and if you looked out one of the spaces at just the right angle, you could sort of see a rather striking image. But since Serra didn’t include instructions and a giant X to mark where to stand, finding the spot where an average human being might sort of like it is strictly a crapshoot.
I like the look of it. Less keen on the whole “falling over and killing people” thing.
It reminds me of the issues they had with the “B of the Bang” sculpture which involved giant metal spikes that started coming loose. Fortunately nobody got skewered there.
Wasn’t there a sculpture with giant umbrellas that came loose in a windstorm and killed somebody? I bet Farmer’s hasn’t seen that.
ETA Yes. It was an installation by Christo
We’re veering into hijackery here. I’ll gather some stuff and start a dedicated thread in Cafe Society, where it can languish and sink on its own paucity of merits
“I want your DOA, Mayo!”
Wasn’t quite an Abe Vigoda, but he played the older type guy for longer than some actors.
I just saw the news about Gossett on TV. Bummer, I really liked him. I think my favorite movie of his was “Enemy Mine”
And again, I am surprised nobody picked him.
I think many of us simply forgot that he was mortal.
I talked my wonderful boyfriend into helping me make my first picks ever in the Death Pool. I’ve been randomly telling him about different celebrities that have passed, and remind him that we still have no points.
I just asked him if he’d heard about Louis Gosset. He said, “Yeah, and I bet he was good for some points for somebody.”
I think I have finally ruined a good man.
High five, sister! ![]()
He will be assimilated.

One of us! One of us!
Except for one themed list I made last year, I don’t really want any of my picks to pass on. As I’ve said before, if I was a celeb and someone put me on their list I’d be flattered I was still remembered.
That’s why the life pool is a nice idea as well. We can submit a list of people over 80 we hope to survive.
My entire list this year for the Death Pool I am also pulling for(though Cheney…um, no).
I wonder who will have LL Bean after this. I have bought a number of things from them, but that was before Frump. If I find out the heirs support Rump I’ll never buy from them again.
