Oh yeah, Festus’ cousin April. Not sure how she lived so long: actors who die on Gunsmoke almost always live to really old, but she never died on that show.
Newly never died in the show and Buck Taylor is still alive at 86.
They did give him a good cowboy death in Yellowstone.
Al Ruddy was 94. He co-created Hogan’s Heroes and won Oscars for producing The Godfather and Million Dollar Baby.
If you get a chance watch the mini-series The Offer about the making of The Godfather. One of the best series I’ve seen in the last few years. Miles Teller stars as Al Ruddy.
Mothers of Plaza de Mayo leader Nora Cortiñas may, perhaps, finally find out what happened to her son:
Slim chance IMO, but she never gave up, so I wish her the best.
Michelle Obama’s mama.
And then there is this one:
No way to feel sorry for him.
Rob Burrows fight against MND is over, terribly sorry to see him go even if it does put me on the board
Looks like a half-dozen of us had him.
No, oops, nevermind.

Hmm I was sure I had Rob Burrow on my list but apparently I didn’t
RAL and I both missed the news that Corey ‘Homicide’ Williams died early in May. 54 points for each of us. I don’t see that anyone else had him.
Well, that jumps you up into 2nd place. Well done.
I don’t show that anyone else had Corey Williams besides you two.
For a brief moment, I thought I’d taken the lead! I figured if he’d been dead over three weeks, someone else would have claimed his points by now if they had him. But of course I checked, and there he was on RAL’s list as well as mine.
I have no recollection of how I found out about him in the first place. My list is the first mention of him in this thread, and there’s no mention of him in the 2023 thread. And I basically threw my list together by looking at leftovers from (a) my own 2023 list, and (b) the 2023 lists of people who usually do well in the Death Pool. If I did any digging of my own, it was brief and minimal. But apparently it netted this guy.
Janis Paige, one of the last stars from the ‘Golden Age’ of Hollywood, has died at 101:
NEW YORK (AP) — Janis Paige, a popular actor in Hollywood and in Broadway musicals and comedies who danced with Fred Astaire, toured with Bob Hope and continued to perform into her 90s, has died. She was 101.
When I came across the news I wondered if she was one of @Baker’s picks and I see that she was. Normally I’d let Baker break the news here herself but per a recent MMP post it’s still difficult for her to post. (Hope you are on the mend, Baker!)
I didn’t know his name but I certainly recognized the face.
I have had busy life things going on … not keeping up on checking, too busy with new a grandbaby. Likely it was a google search of something like “Stage 4 diagnosis Basketball” that netted him. I don’t remember how I found him either, he wasn’t on my radar last year.
