2025-26 NBA season

Ha!!!

During last year’s playoffs, I saw Tyrese Haliburton referred to as “Haliban”. I hated it.

Cavs blow 22-point lead, Knicks take series opener.

I’m gonna need the Cavs to step it up. The Western Finals looks like it’ll be an all-timer, and I don’t want the Knicks to have it easy over an exhausted Spurs or Thunder team.

Frankly the NBA finals is happening right now in the west, Knicks Cavs are fighting for third place.

I haven’t been able to watch as much as I would like this year, but the Knicks seem to have taken things to the next level. Seeing how they have blown through the East, including the big comeback win last night, I wouldn’t count them out.

My friend Greg Flagler, a long-suffering Knicks fan, is starting to get very excited. So that’s one data point to consider.

Honestly, I think even an exhausted Spurs or Thunder team would be slightly favored over a rested Knicks team.

I think you’re right — and I, too, would love to see the Knicks win (I was raised in the NY metro area), so for me this is unfortunate.

The way Wembeyama played last night (including a halftime buzzer-beating half-court three!), the most likely scenario is a repeat of the 1999 finals, when the Spurs beat the Knicks after a strike-shortened season.

But that Knicks team had already exceeded expectations just getting to the finals. Assuming the current one also makes it to the finals, they will have mildly exceeded the expectations of certain folks, but nothing like in 1999.

Shai Flopper-Alexander and OKC get blown out in a game when refs mostly do their job (last night).

I’m afraid if OKC loses they’ll just get Giannis, which they could without really giving up anything important.

Knicks hit 6 3-pointers in the first quarter and lead by 12. Looks like a sweep.

Thunder pulled out win #3 last night at home. Now back to Texas, where the Spurs will be in desperation mode.

Spurs rout Thunder, force Game 7. Let’s hope the blatantly OKC-loving Tony Brothers isn’t reffing the game.

Despite both Western teams being better, one wonders if the sweep-rested Knicks will be able to snatch a Game 1 in the Finals against the exhausted Spurs or Thunder.

On any given week in 2025-26, I’d say this is usually true, but the Knicks happen to be hitting their stride (kicking it up a notch? Finding that extra gear? Swishing and dishing?) at just the right time. So, even without the extra rest, I think the Knicks of this month will give either Western team a run for their money (especially if it’s OKC — because San Antonio also has been hitting a sort of stride, but not consistently).

The Knicks do seem to be peaking at the right time, but they’ve also not played anyone higher than a 4th seed.

Spurs knockout Thunder

Either the alien wins a ring, or the Knicks get their first title in 53 years.

Congratulations to Jeremy Sochan, who having played for both Spurs and Knicks this season is now guaranteed to win a ring.

Seattle fans rejoice.
