2025 college football season thread

The Hoosiers are up 17-7 at halftime.

Yep, PSU gifted them a TD right before halftime via a fumble with about a minute to go. Right after they allowed the previous drive to continue with a terrible defensive holding call.

But I guess that why they’re 3-5.

And now they just threw an interception. This game will be out of hand very soon.

Nope. Penn State broke a big run and, a couple of plays later, ran it into the end zone.

20-17, Hoosiers.

My powers of prognostication continue to be lacking.

FUCK and the Hoosiers got intercepted!

And Penn State got a touchdown! They lead now, 24-20, with 6:27 left.

Unbelievable catch!

That was one heckuva catch for the go-ahead TD.

Not to mention an incredible drive down the field.

Still time for another twist?

My exact words at the end of the game saved here for historical accuracy:

"YEAAAAAAAAH! YEAAAAAAAH! WOOOOOOO! OH, MY GOD!"

My thoughts exactly.

On Thursday, Wisconsin’s athletic director, Chris MacIntosh, stated that, not only would head coach Luke Fickell finish up this season, but that he’d be returning for 2026 (much to the chagrin of Wisconsin fans).

Yesterday, they snapped a 6-game losing streak with a huge defensive effort, and upset #24 Washington. The Badgers won, despite only had 48 yards of passing – and half of that came on a fake punt.

I’m at the point where I want Michigan State to lose the rest of its games so they can fire Jonathan Smith. He seems to be a nice enough guy, but he’s neither a great recruiter nor a great strategist. We’ve had John L. Smith and he sucked, now Jonathan Smith and he’s just as bad. No more John Smiths!
I’m glad to see Indiana finally have a great season, but they could lose 1 game and be bounced out of the CFP and 2 losses would certainly do it. In the college football caste system, they are certainly not in the favored caste. The committee would take a 5 loss Alabama over a 2 loss Indiana.

USC bending the rules just a tad.

I don’t really think so. They weren’t last year.

Michigan State has to vacate all 14 of its wins from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons after it was discovered that six recruits had some of their expenses for “unofficial visits” (which are differentiated from the far more controlled “official visits” in that the athletes pay their expenses) paid for.

Yeah, MSU sure has picked some doozies- Tucker and then Smith.

Wow, unranked South Carolina is utterly smashing No. 3 Texas A&M, 30-3. In College Station, no less.

A&M are certainly fighting back like the #3 team.

Yep…just scored their 4th second-half TD to take a 31-30 lead.

Longhorns prove themselves trash yet again.
