2025 NFL Draft Thread

I hate that I like that Lions pick.

Ouch, there goes Conerly. Nice pickup. Neither Zabel nor Conerly made it to the Chiefs.

Conerly to Washington. That’s good protection for Jayden.

Remember how not that long ago people were talking about no trades happening?

Washington is out there doing BPA the right way. They didn’t have a need, but they aren’t messing around.

This is still an outlier that so few trades happened, especially in the 5-24 range. That never happens.

Edit: one more trade.

:american_football:Eagles trade No. 32 and No. 164 to the Chiefs

:american_football:Chiefs trade No. 31 to Eagles.

Must be a blocking move from the Eagles. Not sure who they like.

Chad Powers coming to Hulu this fall!

Think fast, run fast. Think fast, run fast.

Maxwell Hairston already wearing Bills colors before he gets drafted.

Guy has his own clothing line already and was hugging every pick ahead of him. He looks like a cool dude.

Dude, this is Green Bay. They didn’t go home; they went out to the bars!

McShay is fawning over the pick.

That Eagles trade makes no sense. I can’t believe that someone was charging up in the draft to grab him understanding the injury situation. I really like the Eagles rolling the dice on him, but can’t imagine why they’d need to burn that extra 5th rounder.

Even worse, it would only make sense if the Chiefs were going to grab him (which I doubt) and then if the Chiefs wanted him so bad, why would they agree?

Unless maybe they knew someone wanted to trade back out of another round to get him but that seems even more unlikely. And how would they know that?

I guess there had to be at least one move tonight that is inexplicable, and we finally saw it.

And KC gets Simmons. I’m good with that, even with his injury.

Allowing 1 sack in 2 seasons looks like a good resume.

Lots of OLs coming off the board in the second half. I was hoping one of Conerly or Simmons would make it to the Bears at 39. Really like the Simmons pick for the Chiefs so long as that knee holds up. Gonna be a long wait until the Bears next pick to see if Henderson is still around.

Membou and Banks were gone (early), but Simons was there and they went for it (getting a 5th rounder in the process!)… I guess we will see if he can buck the (very scary) trends regarding offensive lineman and patella injuries.

49ers ended up picking Mykel Williams, who was my second choice, after Jalon Walker. I’m happy with the pick. Great measurables, and still quite young. We’ve got a legendary defensive line coach that should help his development.
I hope we double up on D-line with either TJ Sanders or one of the other quality DTs in the 2nd. We’ve got two each in the 3rd and 4th; that’s where I’d look for interior O-line, LB, offensive skill positions, etc.

Simple way they could know that is the Chiefs call them and say they have an offer for 31 and asking if they want to outbid them.

Sure, but they’d need to know a team wanted to move to 31 for that specific player. Otherwise they’d have been fine staying at 32.

Plus, the Chiefs would also need to know that Philly wouldn’t take Simmons with #31.

Would be interesting to know the specifics in the communications. But we’ll probably never find out.
