That Macintosh team was insane. Steve Jobs would just walk in and say, “I want it to boot 3 seconds faster” or something and they would just ignore him for awhile until finally, one of them(I don’t think it Atikinson), just said something like, “Listen, Steve, you know nothing about how this machine works. We’re getting it to be just about as fast as it can be.”
This was someone in the earliest Apple team, so Steve just stormed off hissy-fitting the way he did. The other guys were pretty impressed.
Later, they had an award for person who best stood up to Jobs. I’ve heard Jobs did not dislike that idea, since…well, he knew he was a jerk.
While Sly & the Family Stone were pretty popular in their day, and they are even in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I still think they’ve never been given quite enough credit for how innovative and catchy their music is.
Author Frederick Forsyth has died at 86.

Totally agree with this sentiment. Great band.
I went through a Frederick Forsyth phase. His books were full of real world details written like the journalist he was and no one could do a twist like him.
