Strange, I was sure that I had Chen Ning Yang on my list, but it seems I misremembered:
Still an curious feeling, reading about the death of someone who won the Nobel prize before I was born.
June Lockhard has died, and I did have that one on my list. I’m not the only one.
Her death knocks my list out of a perfect score but I’m still clinging to first place.
Please check your Life Pool as we wrap up 2025. I will post the 2026 thread soon.
Frank Gehry. That’s six.
Got it.
Just about 11 days left. Please feel free to check the spreadsheet for your list.
@Little_Nemo is currently in the lead.
Here are the awards if nothing changes in 11 days, not including our overall winner.
Nostradamus Award - Four players only had one death, so we are heading to a tie.
Methuselah Medal - currently would go to @distaccato for James Flowers
Fountain of Youth(?) award - @J-P_L for Brian Wilson, who gave him 1 point.
One year ago I posted my list, now I check which ones have made it through the year so far.
June Lockhard died.
And so did John Stuart Foster, April 25, 2025.
So, 227 - (20+23) = 184 with two days to go.
Looks like I can recycle a lot for next year. See you there!

Yay! This list goes up to 11!
I’m quite proud of myself for finishing in the Top 10.
Ha! Just behind the medals!
We should clarify for next year whether the player with more or the player with less deaths is in front when they have the same points. It does not matter this year but it would seem relevant for rank #1. Better to decide in advance. I would argue less deaths are better i.e. in front.
I’ve been doing Death Pools on this board since 1999. And I’ve never won.
Obviously, I was aiming in the wrong direction.
You have me beat. I’ve only been trying since 2003 and haven’t won that or this.
@Mahaloth: I’m glad to see you got the $50 I sent you.
