June Lockhart has died at 100

I was suprised she was still going. She was my first TV mom in Lost in Space, then on Lassie reruns. RiP June.

You don’t think she fell down a well, do you?

She spoke out on television against homophobia back in 1970. A class act!

I used to watch Lassie reruns on Nickelodeon in the late 80s. I’m glad she got to live to be 100.

Goodbye, Spacemom.

She was also the mother to an “Aztec Princess” on General Hospital for awhile.

As Dr Smith might say, “Oh, the pain, the pain.”

Classy lady. 100 years is a good run, and I hope hers was better than most.

She was also a brief (2 episodes, 1957 & 1958) romantic interest, Dr. Phyllis Thackery, of the Knight Without Armor, Paladin. He invited her to come to San Francisco with him, but she was committed to her doctoring in the old West.

RIP Dr Robinson.

She also appeared in the Reginald Owen 1938 version of A Christmas Carol, as Belinda, one of Bob Cratchit’s daughters. Her parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart, played her movie parents.

I remember her first from Lassie.

RIP

I remember June in the cheesy aluminum foil space suits. Somehow she still looked nice.

Here’s to You Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know Woah, woah, woah
:musical_notes:

RIP

After watching Lassie, in prime time, my first career goal was to be a farmer. Driving a tractor looked like fun.

I remember seeing her on Love American Style where she cupped both breasts to adjust her bra, and that was something you didn’t see on old tv, especially not Timmy’s mom. I thought it was kinda sexy :slightly_smiling_face:

Knight without armour in a saaaavage land! The show he made after Paladin (I think it was The Richard Boone Show) shot an episode inside our church adjacent to the school when I was maybe 8 or 9. Excitement! And he was a nice man.

There was a memorable episode of Magnum P.I. guest starring June Lockhart and Jose Ferrer in the present and Anne Lockhart and Miguel Ferrer as the younger selves of the same characters.

The alien healing device has finally taken its toll. RIP June.

She also played the titular She-Wolf of London (1946), a virtually forgotten werewolf movie made by Universal.

I’ll spoiler this:

She never actually changes into a wolf-woman, a la Larry Talbot. It’s all in her mind as people try to convince her she is transforming. A bit like the original Curt Siodmak script for The Wolfman had it all in Talbot’s mind, too. But audiences WANT to see the transformation. So The Wolfman is a prized cultural touchstone and The She Wolf is a footnote, just like Curucu - Beast of the Amazon.

[/spoiler]

She was the vet on Petticoat Junction, too.

I understood that reference!

I had occasion to look up June Lockhart about a year ago, and was surprised and pleased to find that she was still with us at the age of 99. While I was never a great fan of Lost in Space, she brought a certain classiness to it that I admired. RIP.

Lassie was the true TV classic.
