24 hours from bite to bump?

Mosquitos were feasting on my yesterday. Usually they go for people around me, but yesterday I was on the menu. I can’t remember the last time I had itchy mosquito bites. This morning I woke up with four. I tried putting some hydrocortizone/aloe cream on them, but it doesn’t seem to help. I also took an antihistamine, as I’ve heard that is supposed to help.

Anyway, is it normal for itchy mosquito bite bumps to manifest themselves a full 24 hours after being bitten?

My mosquito bites show up a few minutes after being bitten and the bump dissapears in about half an hour.

They do seem to itch more this year. Maybe the insects got an upgrade.

All the mosquito bites I’ve had usually swell up within a few minutes of the bite and start to go down in an hour. Are you sure it was mosquitoes? There are a lot of other biting insects which have cause similar reactions, with differences in the itchiness, length of bump, etc.

Definitely. For example, I felt a bite on my finger. I looked down to see a soon-to-be-deceased mosquito there.
