Picked up the 24 Season 4 DVD set today and watched the 24 season 5 teaser, which was sponsored by Toyota.
[spoiler]Now was that the best Toyota commercial ever? Jack’s trusty Solara can outrun and corner better than a BMW driven by the bad guys! And despite driving through dust and puddles, it stayed showroom clean!
What I don’t get is that if he’s trying to stay under the radar, off the grid, etc. to the point of wearing tattered clothes and not cutting his hair, wouldn’t he attract too much attention driving a shiny new silver Solara?
Also worthy of mention is that Chloe finally gets a more flattering hairstyle, though she’s stuck with driving a Prius.[/spoiler]
The DVD set also has some other interesting things, including a little teaser about the 24 video game which will fill in what happened between seasons 2 and 3.
The disc also features 24 1-minute ‘mobisodes’ which were used to market the show on mobile phones. It’s got all the twists, turns, and cliches you’d expect from 24, only in 24 minutes (though with crappier acting and writing). It’s a side story to season 5 about how the Washington DC CTU branch uncovers a connection to Araz. Now before I watch through season 4 again, were the events in the mobisodes ever mentioned in the regular 24? I don’t remember it, and what happens in the mobisodes seemed tacked on.
