What you can claim as evidence isn’t necessarily evidence to anyone as I see it except by you.
He’s been banned for 3 months now, dude.
But just prior to being banned, I understand he had a near-banned experience!
I wonder what finally got him banned.
In the beginning we’re told there was Adam and Eve, and they lived in a garden. All was well until Eve succumbed to temptation. So they were expelled. With no more gardening to occupy them they played around, discovered what sex was all about, and had how many sons? Everyone knows about Cain, and the unfortunate Able, but not many seem to have heard of the third son, Seth. None of this is hearsay, it’s right there in the Holy Bible, and as 80 million Americans will attest on the Bible, it is God’s absolute truth.
So Adam and Eve begat sons, to the best of my knowledge there is no mention of a daughter, nor of any other eligible, fecund females. So are we all descended from an incestuous relationship between Eve and one (or both?) of her remaining sons? Isn’t incest somewhat frowned upon in the church? Bit of a puzzlement eh?
“The best of your knowledge” is a little lacking. Genesis 5:4 - “After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters”. No mother/son incest needed then. And brother-sister incest is frowned upon now, but if there weren’t yet any genetic defects to concentrate…?
Im gonna try and cut this short and sweet cause i just had an entire excerpt deleted randomly "sigh "
People always seem like if they knew god existed they would change there lives but alot of them would end up like most people, they either live like there isn’t one or they live like there not going to die one day ones just a bit more pleasent than the other especially for children no one should plan there life know they could well be dust for eternity witch is a possibilty maybe you become an electron and that is hell but anyways you got to believe you are better and be a good person have a good life and be grateful to our amazeing creator the source whatever you want to call him and no matter what in this inwardly and outwardly infinite universe you are going to need god one day ,we all need god we all need an amzeing god i often here from the atheist community , about how god has infinite powers and since he created such elegant creatures as us he could have made it a more elegant enviroment or could’ve stopped alot of diseases even though we stayed alot of them by the choices we made and it could have been alot worse in this chaotic universe though, its amazeing we have the brains we do let alone the amount of synchronicity we do in this universe , i also find it funny the two most commonly sure arguements about god both suggest the same thing , their’s this need for this amazeing god that can do anything on both sides of the argument cause we know there’s so much out there like really who knows, religious people say their needs to be something in this universe to have created it and us , i think people can see the correlation or at least a tiny portion of you do the universe goes forever we don’t , their’s so much we are not gonna know but now a days we know alot science breaks everything down into small bits we have figured out amazeing things in these past few years , Einsteins theories are being proven more and more , neutrino’s , even string theory is possibly showing us how things break down more and more and they feel they are so close on cracking conciousness but there’s something about humans that really makes me believe and its how people care on such a deep level , people use love to get to love over hate to get to love even if it means suffering we live to help eachother were happy to help alot of he time and this is all probably sounding really corny but you know what it works , all of this works and just knowing their are others out there that may really wanna discover the truth and how god intertwins with it and i could go on and on post hundreds of notes upon hundreds of notes of what the truth has taught me and you are more than welcome to email me (regularguy8888@gmail.com if you would want to learn anything about how conciousness and science has been comeing together at an extremely exponentially enlightening rate over the past years and want to discuss and connect with people that should be more abundant in this technologically advanced society we need to connect )we need to believe in god to be grateful to him even if you don’t feel it you at least think it especially after reading all this think about all those memorable almost movie like times in your life THINK! one day even if it’s just simulated in a dmt trip you might meet god and don’t even try to tell me a stroke pain distress riden steven fry in the presence of god would dare even think of complaining do you know who your talking about c’mon we can’t even comprehend this thing this amazeing thing that if you believe and have faith will give you hope it may feel good not to believe in god but isn’t that weird that you even feel any differnt , is it that you don’t feel as bad for the thing’s you do i would consider that a bad thing we need to learn , we need to stick to the truth cognitive dissonance is running rampant in this overstimulated world , most of all be grateful and to be grateful is to be happy its just the after affect of being happy and the start to finding happiness , thankyou for takeing my time to read this and have an amazing day i apoligize for spelling mistakes but i believe unjust laws need to be broken and i think we’ve advanced far enough in society to look past a few extra e’s and thought ending periods thoughts never end unless its obvious or it’s for a breif moment in time and most things aren’t a hundred percent proven so that’s why i end this and alot of my notes with a coma cause their’s always more to learn in this infinite universe i hope you decide to start expanding the TRUTH to your true potential your a star , , your made out of a star now go shine ,
I have some periods and upper-case letters for sale, cheap. Would you be interested?
And you wish your audience to end them the same way?
Posting on speed is never a good idea.
Sometimes in a wall-of-text are hidden some gems, some insights which really should not be discarded because of the poor presentation. I pride myself on being that person who will often edit a poorly written post to save my fellow readers the eye strain and migraines.
Not this time. Under the chaff is…more chaff. I think. I didn’t make it more than a few lines down.
Or as have heard it said, “There’s less to this than meets the eye”.
Why did God sacrifice Himself to Himself to change a rule He made Himself?
First of all, the doctrine of the Trinity (all three in one) was not officially accepted until centuries after Christ’s mortal ministry. God is our Heavenly Father, Christ is the Son of God, and the Comforter is the Spirit of God (it is its own entity but because it does not have a body, it can dwell within each of us. God loved us so He sent His Son… not to change the law, but to fulfill it. It was always part of the Plan of Salvation.
Why, if we are the warm, fuzzy centre of all creation, is the universe so incredibly massive? I mean, have you ever seen a pictrre of the known universe? I saw one on astronomy picture of the day. Its unbelievable! There’s something like 40 billion galaxies, each with about 100 billion stars. And that’s only the stuff we know about! It seems so arrogant to bvelieve that of all that, there’s oinly one species on one planet in one solar system in one galaxy that actually matters.
No where in the scriptures does it say that we are the only people to inhabit a planet. God’s creations are without number, but we only need be concerned with those on Earth (we have enough trouble just handling that).
Why did God take so long to tell us about himself? Richard Dawkins thinks our species is 250,000 years old. God only came along 3000 years ago(ish). What was he doing the other 247,000 years why we were killing eachother over caves and stuff? And why, if the message of God was so important, did it take about 1500 years for the Chinese to hear about it? Doesnt it make more sense that the Christian God was the product of a messianic middle east cult and there was nothing “divine” about it?
This is a tricky question in the sense that we do not know. One thing that is helpful is that the “days” as described in Genesis can better be understood as periods- periods with undefined lenghts.
The trinity doesnt make any sense., I mean none AT ALL. Words mean things and this whole"God exists in three Persons and one substance" thing just makes no sense. There is literally no logic to that senence.
You are right. The Trinity is a false, man-made concept. The Godhead consists of three distinct persons who are completely united in purpose.
Terminally ill kids.
In the eternal perspective, death is not the end. Pain is something we all face in life and it is through opposition that we come to learn and grow. God has promised “that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Illness for anyone-- including and especially in children-- requires the ability to look forward with an eye of faith. (and besides… dead is inevitable whether or not there is a God, but knowing there is a God helps us see the purpose thereto)
No miracles nowadays. God never had a problem meddling in peoples lives before. Why has he suddenly got quiet at just the same time our species has figured out how to record and analyse things?
Miracles have not ceased. There are countless miracles recorded everyday. There are people being rescued, healed, preserved, and converted all around us.
If Heaven is perfect happiness, and Hell is the opposite, how can a mother be happy in heaven if her son is sent to hell? If we’re changed THAT MUCH bny going into heaven mightn’t we as well be dead?
Families have the opportunity to be together forever (as Christ said whatsoever is sealed on earth shall be sealed in heaven). Hell is misunderstood by the majority of the Christian world in that all will have the opportunity to repent (think Christ preaching to the spirits in prison in the book of 1 Peter chapter 3) and will be raised to a level of glory (1 Corinthian 15:40-44).
The concept of eternal punishmnt is unjust. Even Hitler doesn’t deserve eternal punishment.
This is true. No one is going to be cast into hellfire to burn eternally. There are however eternal consequences for rejecting Christ and His saving power. No unclean thing can dwell with God, so those who choose not to repent cannot live with Him, but their eternal lot will be determined fully by their choices.
The ‘one size fits all’ concept of hell as a punishment is very unjust. Why should a law abiding atheist and Hitler get the same punishment? Remember, the majority of Christians should (if they follow their doctrine properly) believe that faith is essential to be saved.
No. The Degrees of Glory as described in Corinthians are key in that. Those who endure faithfully will live with God. Those who do not live faithfully (preferring to live in their sins) or rejecting the Gospel in this life and accepting it in the next will live in the lower kingdom, and those who reject the gospel in this life and the next will inherit the lowest kingdom.
Why does god require we worship him? He’s supposed to love us, right? Well, I love my cat but I don’t demand he worships me even though I am (I like to think) a superior being.
Worship is often misunderstood… just like in the scriptures when it says we should “fear” the Lord. He does not expect anything but our love and gratitude. When we understand more fully all that He does for us, it is natural to praise Him but it is based in love and gratitude.
It should be noted too that He wants us to obey Him too, but that is because the commandments He gives us lead to happiness (or at the very least help us avoid unnecessary difficulty). He is our Heavenly Father who gives guidance and direction like any father would…only He knows perfectly what is best for us (and it should be noted that He always lets us choose for ourselves)
The concept of heaven is one of eternal worship of GOd. Wouldn’t that get boring after the first hundred billion trillion years? Its all very well saying that heaven by definition ius always blissful but you have no way of saying why that may be, given wha the Bible actually says about it. Your just saying “God will fix it when you get there”.
In my church, we reject the idea that all we are meant to do after this life is worship. We will love and be loved by God through all eternity but we are to progress. Romans 8 teaches us that we are “heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ”. The eternities will be filled with progression.
The Bible contradicts itself all over the place. I trust i don’t need to cite this.
We cannot judge the origins and validity of the Bible based on the manuscripts we have now which have been translated and retranslated and modified through the ages by unauthorized individuals and groups. There is enough truth however to point us to God and help us know His character.
He continues to speak through living prophets too who clarify and give light in the midst of this dark world.
The Bible contains nothing that couldn’t have been written by a man or woman living in 1st century palestine.
The Bible alone is but one witness of God. Revelation continues today, and as James 1:5 says, we need to seek wisdom for ourselves directly from God.
God doesn’t answer prayers. No matter what subjective experiences you may have had, studies have been done which prove this.
Science has proved and disproved many things, and while we can catch glimpses of truth thereby, much of it can be misinterpreted.
The gospels were written 70-100 years after Jesus died. Thats plenty of time for hearsay and conjecture to creep into the story even if the basics were true.
But if you believe the men were inspired by the Holy Spirit, then their stories are accurate… at least to the point they need to be (there are subtle differences when the same story is told… but it is a matter of perspective)
The creation myth has been debunked. If genesis is untrue, God had much less reason to send down Jesus because there was no such thing as original sin.
Refer to what I said abut science. Regardless, none of us follow the commandments of God perfectly, so while we are not responsible for the spiritual fall of Adam and Eve, we are responsible for our own and we need Christ.
There are LOADS of logical problems with the Christian idea that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent. If God is omniscient that means he must know everythng, including everything man knows. That means he must know lust and envy. If God knows lust and envy, He must have feelings of lust and envy. THat means he’s not perfect. The idea of a perfect God is self defeating.
Knowledge of good and evil does not make one imperfect. God knows both the good and the evil and chooses the good: always. That is what makes Him perfect and that is what can make us perfect as we look to Christ.
Another logical problem with the idea of a perfect God is that, because a perfect being knows absolutely everything, God can’t have free will. God knows his choices in advance.
Knowing and choosing are different. I know it is good to floss but I don’t do it. God knows what is good and makes decisions to do it.
There is as much hard empirical evidence for the existence of God as there is for the ecistence of the flying spagetti monster. Seriously. If God does exist then there is absolutely no difference between our universe and a universe where he doesn’t exist.
Except it would make all the difference. We would not be here and even if we were, we would have no hope for happiness and love.
There are still people in the world who haven’t heard of Jesus. If Jesus’s message is so important, why has God let this happen?
The gospel is preached after death to those who do not receive it in this life. (1 Peter 3). All mankind will have the opportunity they need.
Christians say the universe is finely tuned to support life and that is evidence that God exists and created the universe for us. But our planet is the only one we know that supports life and even earth is a very dangerous place with its earthquakes and volcanos and tsunamis and hurricanes and tornadoes and ice ages dangerous diseases. Why would God create such an inhospitable planet for us?
Trials. From the eternal perspective, the pains and sorrow of this life will be recompensed completely. Check to see how people of faith respond after disasters. They are often strengthened to be able to endure them
If God created everything, that means he also created smallpox, which has killed more people in the 20th century than all the 20th century dicatorships combined and multiplied by a hundred.
Same answer as the previous. Death is not the end.
If God gives us free will to suffer that means that God must want us to suffer. THat means God approves of suffering generally.
Same answer. Suffering is inevitable. Even if God doesn’t exist. But He does exist, and he offers hope for wonderful blessings whether in this life or the next.
Why won’t God heal amputees? I mean, when Christians talk about God saving or curing someone, there’s always a natural explanation. Why doesn’t God ever do anything which cant be easily explained in natural ways?
Faith. We need to walk by faith. Miracle happen, but they are always preceded by faith.
Terminally ill kids. That one bears repeating.
Same answer
That’s what she said.
You didn’t actually answer the question. What is the “purpose thereto?” You say there is one, and you say that knowing there is a God helps us see it. Okay: what is it?
You invoke an “eternal perspective.” Why? What evidence do we have for this? Why should I accept a God who consents to such horrors, and promises it’ll all be okay “in the eternal perspective.”
Lend me some money; I’ll pay you back in the eternal perspective.
It’s allegory.
Does that help?
And this is why I’m an atheist. “Shit happens” is just so much easier for me to accept than “It’s God’s plan.”
Any plan where [strikeout]you lose your hat[/strikeout] innocent children have to die in agony is not a good plan.

Okay, I know OP isn’t here any more, but this thread is up again.
His argument fails here. Hitler does too deserve eternal punishment. Therefore God exists.
