Since I’ve promised to dial things back I’m going to answer this post in a way that I hope will appear informative rather than deliberately insulting.

Point of fact 1**: No, I’ve never suggested that conservatives are always happy. I’ve said that they are happier in general. Many of you seem compelled to exaggerate my statements to ridiculous lengths, which I can only think you do because your exaggerations are easier to dismiss/ridicule/argue against than what I’ve actually said.
Point of fact 2: No, I’ve haven’t suggested that liberals of the 60’s have caused literally all our social ills. What I’ve said without equivocation is that they were the catalyst for them, and that the ills in question have been fostered and made worse by Democrat politicians who couldn’t jump on the bandwagon quickly enough, and by subsequent generations of liberals.
Point of fact 3: And I’ve never said that blacks “got the bends” from too rapid civil rights. The notion is laughable. What I’ve said is that by forcing the two disparate and widely differing cultures into a premature and unnatural co-mingling has created a lot of conflict that has actually set back the arrival of time when the color of a person’s skin is of no more importance than the color of their eyes or hair.
And I’ve also said the black community has been horribly harmed by changes liberalism has wrought which have resulted in their producing large numbers of children who have no fathers on the scene, born to immature mothers improperly raised themselves and utterly lacking the education and income producing and value system qualities necessary to raise a child to fruitful adulthood, the result being millions of black people over the last fifty years whose lives have been destroyed through drugs or crime and/or lost due to murder or drugs or crime.
And blacks aren’t the only ones. A fair number of whites have suffered the same fate and for the same reason: liberal changes to society that have brought about an almost total abandonment of the values that would prevent them from happening.
Point of fact 4: My musings in the Joe Paterno thread have proven correct almost without exception. I’m not allowed to expound on them outside that thread, but the fact is that on every major stand I took early in the thread subsequent events have proven me right and that my opponents had been jumping to ill-founded presumptions not supported by fact, which I had been pointing out since the very early days of the thread.
Point of fact 5: I submit that I offer as much of value to this board as any of the hundreds of posters who constantly lambaste conservatives, and in far more threads than I do and on far more subjects. Plus I offer specifics! I state exactly what I think liberals have done wrong and the consequences they’ve caused. I don’t just flit around the board like many of the board’s liberal posters do sprinkling caustic little insults and criticisms here and there every chance I get.
The reality is that I post very little both compared to the amount I was posting five or six years ago, and compared with the total number of threads on the board or the total number of posts to the board. But it seems many of you only want the board to function as an echo chamber, with dissent magnanimously tolerated so long as it doesn’t become to aggressive.
But more than any other of the board’s conservatives (who all come in for heated abuse, let’s face it), I’m willing to step up and go toe to toe with you and give as good as I get. Plus, deny it all you want, I’m often right. There is no question that my claims about what has happened to education because of liberal influence is correct. There is no question that liberal societal changes have created the huge number of children we have now and have had for decades growing up without fathers, proper parenting and/or proper values and turning to crime. There is no question about the number of people whose lives have been lost or ruined due to drugs and gang and criminal activity of a type directly traceable to these liberal societal changes.
And frankly, I believe it’s the fact that I’m right about these things and I’m willing to get right in your face and unequivocally confront you with it that you and other of the board’s posters object so strongly to my presence here and magnify it all out of proportion with accusations as to the Starving Artist Show and about my taking over threads, when in reality my posting here is scant compared to prior times and to board activity in general.
You may not have noticed but no one really quibbles with most of the major points I make. Instead they glide right over them and seek instead to make hay over unimportant sidebar issues like whether the paper towel tube test is “impossible,” as if proving me wrong there unravels my entire defense of Joe Paterno.
So I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with your claim that I offer nothing of value to the board. There is always value to pointing out the truth, no matter how unpopular that truth may be.
