The most interesting thing is that most or all of the women were apparently aware he already had a large family, and they still thought he was good bet to have kids with. I guess he’s just the kind of guy that women really, really like.

Watchingthe movie Idiocracy, I couldn’t tell if it was histerically funny or depressingly prescient.
We all joke about it, but I really do feel that natural selection in a developed society where birth control is available favors the stupid. Smart people restrain themselves from breeding in many situations where morons like this guy (and those many stupid women he impregnated) see nothing wrong with having more kids.
Then, when idiots cannot take care of their kids, the rest of us try to help them out because we don’t want the kids to suffer. However, the unpleasant reality is that just means there is no disincentive for them to stop making the same mistake.
Everyone who has taken Psych 101 has heard of the Flynn effect (IQs rise in each generation in modern societies). It looks like IQs have leveled off or are maybe even declining. Even though that wiki article disputes it, I can’t help but wonder if this kind of thing is the first sign “Idiocracy” really is coming true.
I understand that fear, lavenderviolet, but the other side of that is that recent research shows that people who had small families three generations ago have MORE descendants today than people with big families. Having a big family in this generation doesn’t mean that his offspring are going to outbreed anyone else.
It’ll be easier to sell shares in my Blanket Tree plantation, though. “A new life awaits you in the off-world colonies!”
I used to work with a guy like that. He was married, and he and his wife had a couple of kids. But he also had a lot of “outside” children. The state was garnishing his wages for child support for all of them. He barely took any money home at all… so crazy for a guy busting his back for minimum wage.
He was quite handsome and very charming - I suppose that’s what got him in that mess to start with.

I think you all have the cause and effect part wrong. He’s only making minimum wage because he’s so busy breeding that he can’t possibly finish his education, put in a decent day’s work, or move up the corporate ladder. I’m telling you, this guy is a victim of his own fecundity.
Is it verified that these women are the only bearers/baby factories? There could potentially be more based on his current record.
I imagine he probably has a superpower of impregnating chicks just by looking at them a certain way.
