Here too. Toshiba spot was kinda clever, though.
Bud: Drink our beer and get crabs!
Budweiser: Those crabs sound a lot like the aliens from Toy Story. “The beer cooler is our master!”
Prudential: Yeah, Iraq can do a lot of things. Oh wait, that’s “a rock.” Never mind.
Is it sad that that’s the first thing I thought of too?
Arrg. My laptop spontaneously rebooted just as I posted. We had just one “Superbowl” commercial, the rest were local ads. I liked the Bud commercial with the crabs.
Who won the Lingerie Bowl?
JayZ needs to show Don Shula some respect.
Ummm, I should have said we had mostly local commercials at the third/fourth quater break.
HP: not worthy of Superbowl time.
Izod: fluff.
Budweiser: Virtual football. I liked it. I wish I had a game like that.
The Lingerie Bowl was cancelled.
E*trade: the finger knows! Liked the Dr’s finger in the glove: “Get to know your doctor better.”
I expected a reference to another finger you can hold up. I was correct.
careerbuilder: another good one. I think I actually have that many binder clips in my drawer at work. Maybe I better think more about being a team player.
Snapple: Cool. We’ve been doing some work on EGCG in my lab.
The National Football League: Good spot, winner of a contest. Aw, sorry, Buffalo, Miami, New England, New York (Jets), Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Denver, Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Dallas, New York (Giants), Philadelphia, Washington, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Arizona, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago.
Rock, Paper, Scissors cracked me up.
It’s just now 10:00pm EST and this game started at 6:30, so this has been a really fast game. It didn’t seem like there were as many commercials this year as in past years.
Thank you everyone for another year of running commentary on the ads. And congratulations to the Colts. Good game overall.
I was only half-watching, but the gameplay seemed rather sloppy. Who cares? The ads were not that good either. Who cares? At least I had fun…I guess. Good job, Indianapolis! See you next year!
I thought the commericals were quite boring this year. A couple got a laugh but I was very disappointed overall.
Rain would have made the Lingerie Bowl more … compelling.
I saw that ad run before a film in the theater on Martin Luther King Day, and it said “Especially today” in that one as well. Made much more sense in that context. What’s the connection to the game?
My favorite ad was Robert Goulet.
