2nd grade, Oklahoma teacher arrested at school for heroin.

Honestly, that pictures does not look that much unlike one of my exes when she would get a bout of acne (in her 20s). I’m 100% sure she was not a meth or other drug addict.

Sure, but if I have no idea what meth addicts look like and no reason to Google images of meth users (and I never have), then I’m not going to look at her and think “drug addict” based on the sores. I’m more apt to wonder if she has some medical condition.

Heck, there are posters right there in the schools showing what the Face of Meth looks like. Or at least, there are such posters in all the schools around here: I can’t speak to Oklahoma.

Unkempt hair is also no sure sign. My hair looks like that mugshot often, because my hair quickly reverts to that state unless I comb it constantly. And I don’t, because not being an addict, I’ve got other things to do.

Who has a good looking mugshot anyway? With some makeup, she’d be pretty and wouldn’t raise eyebrows. The fact that she’s a blond woman, pretty no less, probably helped her escape notice.

the mug shot does not look like a meth user. it looks like a woman who has just spent an hour crying her eyes out because she just got arrested. that and the harsh lights of the police station. please people, sometimes people look like a mess for reasons other than meth.

She doesn’t look like a meth user because she’s a heroin user. And to be fair, in her mugshots with no makeup, you can see the pock marks and scratches on her face indicative of drug use. That’s more than just the face of a crying woman. But my point remains, that stuff is something easily hidden by makeup. She

Came here to post that. More or less.

so all of these people are drug addicts?

I used to hang out at a board that had a Friday Mugshot Roundup. They mainly focused on crazy, messed up looking people and smoking hot women. Trust me when I say that attractive women often have spectacular booking photos. Often laughing or smiling, particularly if they were arrested for something that indicated sociopath tendencies. I used to have an archive but lost it when my external drive crashed.

Her pic looks like a bad rosacea/acne breakout. While her drug use could certainly include speed-type drugs that produce the skin crawling/scratching symptoms, her expression and clear-eyed look at the camera contradict that.

Not everyone that does meth look like that.

Those hardcore meth users look like that. May be she been doing drugs for 4 to 8 years or more but only doing meth for 2 or 3 years?

Some meth users that do meth a number of times in week than other meth users that do meth every day.

That seems to be other addiction meth users have picking and touching their face to the point they get sores.

They seem to have a addiction to touching their face and picking at their skin to they get sores.

Yeah, all I’m seeing in that photo is a bad case of acne. It’s easy to say, after the fact, that the school “should have known,” but we generally don’t arrest people for zits and a bad hair day.

Messy hair and acne? Wow, half of my classmates must’ve been meth heads!

Damn, she stole the kids field trip money! That’s hardcore.

The article that Springtime for Spacers linked to says that she was arrested at school:

Do police make arrestees remove all of their makeup before the mugshot? If not, then that means she looked that way at school - not exactly pretty, and a stark contrast from her “before” picture.

When I was teaching and there was a week focused on being drug free (there’s a week for everything), after all the assemblies and activities, I would show the before-and-after pictures from Faces of Meth website to my upper-elementary students. Kids that age are so conscious about appearance, I figured they would be scared off of drug use if they saw possible results.
The kids were very vocal about the images and swore they would never do that to themselves, but I can’t speak to the long-term effectiveness of the exercise.
