3/30 Big Bang Theory: The Dead Hooker Juxtaposition

Well, the whole discussion wasn’t entirely about that, but yes, it was mentioned in the teaser to the train ep. He had too much stuff recorded for the time in which they’d be gone, I guess, and was nervous about opening up the case to futz with the hard drives.

Leonard just sort of suggested something about deleting BSG to get him to agree.

Oh hell no! That’d be worse than Data/Tasha Yar.

I can almost see Penny falling for Sheldon because he is so pure and so oblivious to her obvious physical charms. And Sheldon, there has to be spark of animal sexuality in there somewhere right?

I thought that was a brilliant match!

But my money is on Sheldon remaining a-sexual. there would be something just wrong about it. He cna only really be involved with someone MUCH younger - otherwise it’s like mental-age statutory rape.

I image Sheldon sees sex, like everything else, purely on an intellectual level. Which means he goes EEEEWWWWW just thinking about it.

The closest they’ve come to addressing it was when Leonard’s mom (Christine Baranski) visited. I loved the “I must insist you try it with me… I experience a fabulous array of endorphins afterwards” ‘seduction’ scene with her that led to their karaoke number.

Now that Sheldon can grow his own Leonard Nimoy (courtesy of Penny to whom he has a life-debt) any need to sexually reproduce is long removed. Though he did have an interest in who his twin sister would mate with- perhaps he’ll ultimately go Egyptian to try and recapture his own sequences.

One of my favorite moments was when he picked up a guy while trying to find a boyfriend for Penny. “Excuse me… are you currently in a sexual relationship? Well would you like to be? Can I have your phone number then? See how easy that was…”.

Don’t forget the scene where Sheldon is in the children’s section of a bookstore talking with a little girl. Leonard had to come get him (and hide his face from the security camera) not because he was doing anything wrong, but that he just didn’t get how odd it would be for a grown man to be chatting up a little girl who was a stranger to him.

That was quite possibly the funniest scene I’ve ever watched on a TV show.

Very first episode- he knows that’s not at all likely. I mean, she’s a hostess at Fudruckers’!

A very good episode. Possibly my favorite this season. I laughed several times. Most everything I would say has been said, so I won’t be redundant.

With those eyes, I always thought chameleon. In fact, with the squid head comment, I wasn’t sure I was thinking of the right character.

(Ahhh, that seven-year-old nerd child’s Star Wars knowledge is still in my brain, somewhere! <Yes, I did draw the best Chewbacca in my first grade class, thank you very much!>)

It occured to me yesterday- We know Penny has girl friends from work, but at home, the boys are her only friends- mainly Leonard & Sheldon. And when we remove Leonard as “only a friend” due to the romantic tension…

Sheldon is Penny’s platonic best friend.

Ponder what stories can come from that being explored, especially as she realizes it & more remotely, IF he realizes it.

I’m imagining the final scene of the series as the two of them in a nursing home with her helping him eat pumpkin pie ala best friends Hoke and Miz Daisy.

One thing I love about the character of Penny is that she’s no dummy. In most rooms she wouldn’t lower the median IQ by much if at all- it’s just that Sheldon and Leonard’s living room isn’t most rooms. And she has a good sense of humor (the motorcycle lessons she gave Leonard for Christmas were one of my faves) and is a genuinely nice person (her nursing Sheldon- singing the kitty song and rubbing menthol on his chest even though she was ready to cut his throat)- she’s far from the stock “dumb-blonde-waitress-who-wants-to-be-an-actress” character.

Of course one of my favorite of Sheldon’s bitchicisms was when she lied about having completed community college.

Yep. Same two scenes. Outside Howlowitz’s (sp?) door and the final scene.
We have Comcast and a 15 year old TV that probably doesn’t have a DTS setting, whatever that is
