30 Day Song Challenge, number 27: a song that you wish you could play

OK, you convinced me. I guess I’ll move “Rebel Rebel” up my list of priorities. Still gonna vote “My Sharona” for the purpose of this thread though.

I’m gonna revoke my “Whammer Jammer” harmonica wish, because I’m a fuzzy-brained nincompoop, and I totally spaced on this one:

“Lost Fox Train” by Wade Schuman of Hazmat Modine.

“Whammer Jammer” is the song that makes people want to pick up the harmonica. “Lost Fox Train” is a song that makes 'em put it down and dejectedly walk away.

Sure, The Shaggs are an acquired taste, but I’ll bet ya five pesos if you listen to them again, maybe go to a spot later on the album this time, like the fine, searching, (like, literally searching) ballad “My Pal Foot Foot”, you might discover new layers of nuanced…something or other that kinda tip-toe up behind you and you find yourself goin, “hmm, well ok, I never noticed that leitmotif before…intringuing!”

The Philosophy of the World gets me almost misty-eyed with wonder.

I’m nearly getting vertigo just thinking about it - I have to hold on to something, catch my breath…
