30 Day Song Challenge, number 8: A Song You Know All the Words To.

What Have You Done Now by Within Temptation.

Just heard it so many times and while I no longer consider it Temptation’s best song, I have it memorized.

If I had to put a number on it, I’d say around 95% of all Beatles songs I’d know the lyrics to, and I’d wager I’m not the only one here who can claim that.

thank-you! (thumbs up emogi)

Allan Sherman - Hello Muddah Hello Faddah, because of one school assignment waay back in a grade I can’t even remember, where we had to choose a poem from a short list and memorize it. This was the most popular one to pick so I heard it recited by classmates over and over again.

Springsteen - **Thunder Road **I sing unaccompanied at the top of my lungs.

In my car, without passengers, on lonely highways.

Also Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing. I thought I had forgotten it but it poured out effortlessly one day.

That’s when I let loose with this.

I sometimes sing these when I’m putzing around the house:

I see it’s difficult for most of us to list just one song in this particular thread. I know hundreds of songs word for word, but here are a few that are really fun to sing.

David Bowie - The Bewley brothers Depending on how clear the recording is, with his first breath you can hear a faint whistle from his nostril as he quickly inhales to sing.

Roxy Music - Mother of Pearl Bryan Ferry has always had great lyrics. Absa teenager, I learned a bunch of four syllable words singing this song.

[Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away](http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr_uHJPUlO8 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away) I enjoy belting out this one in the car. It’s all in the attitude and sneering vocals.

Meat Loaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Light.

My go-to karaoke song with the right woman.

“Semi Charmed Life” Third Eye Blind. And in the spirit of the thread, I’ve linked to a lyrics video. Though I haven’t watched it to make sure all the lyrics are correct!

+1 My problem, too - good thing I’m in the rhythm section and not the lead singer.

Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful of Sunshine - I sing it quietly to myself sometimes when I’m having a rough day.

Hozier - Take Me To Church - I heard this song so many times on the radio I learned it by heart. Link is for the lyric video because the official music video makes me sad.

Dolly Parton - Jolene - Even though I never had my man stolen by a redhead, I find it so horribly easy to think of myself in the narrator’s situation. I do love singing it in the shower at the top of my lungs to annoy my daughter.

My wife would love to sing this one with you. Well, with anybody, really.

I think I’m missing something: where are the rules to this “challenge” posted?

You can find the opening post at this link:

Ah, so. Carry on, then.

“Wipe Out” by The Surfaris.

But seriously …

I Fought the Law
I Wanna Be Sedated
Blitzkrieg Bop
(What’s So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding
London Calling
Lust For Life

For all of the above, I know the lyrics because I’ve sung them on stage.

I might want to post such a song, but perhaps it’s already been posted and I’d need to reference that.

But there is no freakin’ way I’m going to click on all those YouTube links just to see what’s been mentioned.

Some text would be really great for a thread like this.

Mine above:

*Batman

Gilligan’s Island

Springtime for Hitler

On The Street Where You Live

Theme from Star Trek (TOS)

Star-Spangled Banner (all four verses)

God Save the Queen (all three verses)

O Canada (English version)

Deutschland uber Alles (all three verses)

Knights of the Round Table

The $ound of Money*

Or that you’re apt to break into at the drop of a hat!
