I have two S&W .38 Spl revolvers; one is a Model 10 made around 1973, and the other is a pre-Model 10 (low C-s/n) made between 1948 and 1951.
Can anyone verify that it is safe to fire +P rounds in these?

Factory loaded +P is safe for both guns in new condition. Firing a large number of +P rounds will cause accelerated wear and loosen the action/timing; how acceptable that is is up to you.
They’re both in good condition. Turns out I misread the description on the ammo I was looking at, and it’s not +P; that was something else. I should probably get into reloading. It would be easier to get LRN that way. (About all I can find is FMJ or JHP.)
Midway has pre-loaded lead SWC and RN.
Look here, or here (in case the search doesn’t work).
I’ve bought stuff from them before, but it’s been a while.
They also have lead cast bullets, but I’ve about decided to spend the extra money on jacket because I get tired of scrubbing barrels.
Thanks for that.
