Have y’all heard about these? Check it out over here. The gist of it is, you give it a file containing the instructions for a 3D object, and it builds the object. Pretty neat, huh?
But what would you do with it? A friend of mine asked me that tonight. I couldn’t think of anything.
And then I hit on it. This thing could revolutionize the sex toy industry. Picture this: you’re at your favorite online sex toy store, you make a purchase, and it comes out of your printer within a few* minutes.
Wouldn’t that be cool?
*No idea how long it would actually take, but probably less time than you would think.
Rapid prototypers such as that are actually fairly old, I think I remember reading about them as far back as '93. The claim about color however is unique. I can think of a few ways to do it myself. But I do find it suspicious that there are no pictures of the printer system itself.
As for how long it would take to generate something? Well, he claims that the small bike infront of the house model took 7 min.
I do know that those invisilign braces use a rapid prototyper to manufacture the braces, and that takes probably about an hour per batch with only 30 min or so being the actuall making, and the next 30 being the curing period.
