You mean the players who are already sharing said locker room? I mean, if you’re going to believe in the idea of the predatory gay, wouldn’t you want them out so you can keep tabs on them? Seems to me like ninja gays would be your worst nightmare.
Didn’t Garcia said something about being bisexual, which led to a bit of a locker room tiff with Terrell Owens roughly a decade ago?
The players would probably be more homophobic than the fans but there will be a good portion of fans that would be uncomfortable either consciously or subconsciously that a player they liked was gay.
It might lead to some *fans *coming out, then.
I’ll be disappointed if the only player to come out is Kordell Stewart, about whom we already know.
I’m pretty sure one of the cornerbacks for the Steelers is Gay.
Garcia never said anything of the sort. But T.O. assumed Garcia was gay and mocked him for it.
Yeah… Terrell Owens is a reliable source on precisely nothing.
For one he is not even close to being a current player. He’s been out of the league for almost ten years. And he is currently going through a bitter divorce and his ex is claiming he has another woman. Even though the divorce battle is heated she said when asked that he isn’t gay. So if he is, he’s doing it wrong. I don’t think there would be much of an impact if an espn analyst comes out of the closet.
What would be most amazing…
Patrick Willis leads a coming out party with LaRon Landry, Von Miller and Ed Reed… now say something %$@#^!
Of course, he could also simply swing both ways. As we should all know by now, sexual orientation isn’t really a binary condition. It is possible to like both men and women.
Or he’s a hetero with a slightly softer style of speech and manner. The man says he’s straight, so assume he’s straight.
A couple of years ago, the Patriots put Dan Koppen and Randall Gay on injured reserve on the same day. The Globe headline: “Koppen, Gay, Put On IR”. The best retort: “I’m pretty sure you can play through that.”
First of all, go piss up a rope. Second, Willie O’Ree says hi, asshole.
BTW, someone in NC playing the racist card? Are you fucking kidding me?
You can’t insult other posters in this forum, and “fuck you” isn’t allowed even in the Pit. This is a formal warning, so please don’t do this again.
I think the first one was an actress – that is, he broke up with an actress to date, and later marry, a supermodel.
With all due respect to the hopefuls, I think the chances are exceedingly slim it’s Brady.
Yeah, I edited the F-bomb already, sorry I got overheated. I just hate casual generalization of racism, it’s wrong and I feel that if I’m being taken to task, Zebra should be too for using inflammatory language as a casual insult.
But anyway… it’s illegal to drop an F-bomb in the Pit now? Good grief. I don’t come around much anymore. People like Zebra and rules like that are part of the reason, I suppose.
I was referring to this.
I think I said fanbases, and I apologize for that. Meant to say fans, some fans in some fanbases.
ETA: This article is good too.
No, just F U is not allowed.
Now, we’re talking about extremely tenuous, circumstantial, approaching stereotyping, evidence here, barely sufficient for even discussing for fun, etc. etc.
But, if a celebrity man is publicly dating a woman, why does the fact that the woman is an actress or model make it less likely that she’s a beard? I mean, if you were looking for a beard, wouldn’t you want someone who could act and is used to appearing in public? And you’d also want someone classically pretty, right? And, you know, actresses and models make a career out of faking things in public, so they’re perhaps the group that might be more receptive to a suggestion to fake something in public?
Obviously super-duper-top-models who have made enough money to be set for life probably aren’t going to beard someone just for money, but super-duper-top-models have their own public image to worry about, so a mutual beard is quite possible, and not unheard of in this world.
Again, I’m not saying that it’s proven, or even likely, that Giselle is Tom’s beard (or vice versa). I’m just saying that I don’t think the fact that Giselle is a model is evidence against it; rather it’s (tiny, nigh-ephemeral) evidence for it. Likewise for any other celebrity man who’s publicly dating a model/actress/Playboy bunny.
Yeah, but she’d probably be interested in actual companionship, too. It’s difficult-bordering-on-impossible to hide a real, private relationship while engaging in a fake, public one for any celebrity.
And, in this particular case, Brady (unwittingly) knocked up one woman, broke up, and shacked up with a supermodel. I suppose it’s possible he’s just taking responsibility for another man’s child or there’s some kind of super-secret conspiracy involving artificial insemination, but it stretches the bounds of plausibility.
While it’s not completely ok to be openly gay, the vast majority of people are heterosexual. And faking a heterosexual relationship takes a lot more work than a simple beard. That beard has to be committed all the time - in front of the paparazzi, family, friends, etc and be willing to forgo anything resembling a real relationship of their own. Again, it stretches the bounds of plausibility.
