I bought Hallmark gift wrap, and the label on the roll says:
45 SQ FT/PI2
(2 1/2 FT/PI X 6 YD/VG)
4.18 m2
(76.2 cm X 5.48 m)
This is as nearly as I can reproduce what it says, however their “2” after the “PI” is a superscript and their two and a half is a numeral two followed by a one-half symbol (superscript one and subscript two with a slash between, no space preceeding it).
What in the world do they mean with the Pi squared???
Their dimensions otherwise indicate the package contains 45 square feet, so the “/PI2” seems not to belong there.
Is perhaps “PI” not 3.1416 but, instead, the abbreviation for “feet” in some other language? Seems odd they’d use “SQ _” to denote squared in one spot and “_2” in another. However, the use of “/VG” does look like an alternative abbreviation for yard in some other language.
