5 women accuse Louis CK of sexual misconduct

How about these, “Women are lying whores” glasses? Try them on.

…in your “imaginings” why would you consider the outcry over your scenario to be even worse than what has actually happened? So you think Louis CK was lying in his public confession?

It is no wonder you have trouble understanding consent. If you assume that asking someone to your place is a “colloquial for having sex” you are going to get yourself into trouble. So stop making that assumption.

He’s already wearing them.

Of course it is true that he asked to masturbate in front of them. That’s not the question. That would be true no matter what he said. But the public would not allow him to explain it honestly. They would say catch phrases like “victim shaming” and “man-spalining” and “powerful men”

But guess what, not all men are powerful.

I never said the women were lying. No need to put words in my mouth. He thought the scenario was playing out one way and they thought it was playing out a different way

I said they were not being honest with him, big difference. He was very forthcoming with what he thought was happening and they were not.

Not all men are sexual predators. Not all men defend sexual predators. Not all men live in fear of being accused of being sexual predators.

Also I’m a woman.

…so Louis CK is lying? Why do you think he would lie? What do you think actually happened, and why are you disputing what everybody else at the moment agrees on?

This wasn’t a one time incident. He’s not being accused of a one time incident. He’s admitted to multiple incidents (stories: plural) by multiple women.

What makes you think that your totally imaginary alternative explanation would generate more of an “outcry” than the situation Louis CK was in already? He was in headlines with the words “sexual misconduct” and getting dumped from gigs right and left before he even issued a statement of any kind.

Except that the man and the woman actually involved have all stated publicly that it was something entirely different. And the publicly stated experiences of several other women, which the man has also publicly corroborated, bear out their statements.

No, he is not lying. he is just not allowed to tell his side of the story.

The scenario that everyone agrees in is this " Louis C.K. invited them to hang out in his hotel room for a nightcap after their late-night show. Louis C.K. asked if he could take out his penis. They laughed. He proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating. "

:dubious:

Who’s “not allowing” him? He’s published a statement in the media saying that the women’s stories are true, and that what he did was wrong. He could have said anything he chose, and what he said is that the accusations are true.

You’re attempting to wrench a few of the agreed-upon facts out of context to support your alternative interpretation in which Louis CK didn’t do anything wrong. The thing is that nobody agrees with your alternative interpretation, including Louis CK himself.

No, all he said was “These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true” “asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly” <– every couple about to engage in a sexual act has some for of admiration for the other

He never said what he did was wrong, or that the situation didn’t play out slightly different.

And to answer the first question. YOU would never allow him to be honest about this. You personally.

Louis CK also said “I didn’t think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it. There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. […] The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else. And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them.”

I don’t see how he could be any clearer about the fact that he realizes what he did was wrong and regrets it.
Fortunately, perhaps, he’s still got some fans like you who at least make him look good by comparison. (In fact, if this is actually part of his long-term career-rehabilitation plan, I can’t condone it but I can’t help somewhat admiring the strategy.)

…you just said “the public would not allow him to explain it honestly.”

So did he explain things dishonestly?

Nonsense. Complete and utter felgercarb. He is allowed to tell his own story. He has told his own story. Do you or do you not believe his story?

So which part of the story that everybody apparently “agrees on” do you think Louis CK was dishonest with?

Um, I personally don’t have any control whatsoever over what Louis CK says or doesn’t say. He doesn’t depend in any way on my “allowing” him to do anything.

Nothing in what you just posted says he thinks what he did was wrong. He regrets hurting people. He regrets that he didn’t have to think about it that way.
Again, being perfectly clear. Asking someone for a sexual interaction (assuming the person is legally and mentally an adult and capable of making sound decisions) is not wrong or bad.

None, being dishonest was never mentioned. He told the politically correct factual story.
