OK - so this was on the radio on the drive home from work today - the question of the day was, “52% of all Americans have one in their car - what is it?”
I am a bit dubious about the answer, and couldn’t verify the info on a Google search, but according to the disc jockey, this is the answer:
I found a severed digit in a car that was in my father wrecking yard. The car had been in a pretty nasty crash. It was shriveled up and purplish black but the fingernail was still it’s whitish color.
I thought it would have been a trashbag. I refuse to carry one in my truck, I prefer to dump any trash as soon as possible.
My first guess was ice scraper. My second guess was cell phone–though I decided that 52% was a little low for that.
I don’t think I have any french fries–don’t usually take them in my car. (And the amount of other assorted crud went down dramatically yesterday afternoon. I’ve been accumulating stuff for months.)
A quick check of spouse’s Home-Away-from-Home on Four Wheels reveals: more french fry containers than french fries, several coffee mugs, Chikfila bags & wrappers, many quarters, a dollar bill, some bathing suit magazines, drink cups, newspaper, some pay stubs, a few deposit slips and the biggest bane of all - Individually Wrapped Chocolate wrappers.
