6 year old student hit by car -- prayers and well-wishes wanted for speedy recovery

My former student, Jaira H. – a sweet, funny girl with boundless creativity – was crossing the street with her 14 year old brother and 8 year old sister (another former student) when she was struck by a braking car and knocked unconscious. Luckily our school is five blocks from Children’s Hospital and she was able to get prompt medical attention, and her family came flying from all parts of the city within 30 minutes. She’s been intubated and put in restraints – but she’s resting now.

Jaira’s prognosis seems good – regained consciousness complaining of pain, suffers from a concussion, has no broken bones or internal injuries, nothing unusual in the CT. Nevertheless I thought a thread of well wishes and prayers couldn’t possibly hurt. Be generous and kind. I want Jaira to know all kinds of people were looking out for her.

Asante Sana, (Thank You Very Much)

i hope she recovers quickly.

i’ll be thinking of jaira and her family, and praying for a quick, easy, total recovery.

her poor sibs must be so tramatized. i hope they are getting help as well. they will be having nightmares for quite a while.

Poor little thing. Same thing happened to my little brother at 6. He was alone and he broke an arm and hurt his knee, but he healed amazingly fast because he was a little kid. So will she. But it’s pretty scary right now, I know.

My prayers for Jaira and her family, from an Irish-American lady in NYC.

Moving this from IMHO to MPSIMS.

Two of my nieces have been hit by cars (one got her leg broken) so she’s got my well-wishes.
Get well soon Jaria!

That’s awful. Good thoughts and best of wishes to Jaira. :frowning:
